Trying to conceive

I'm new to this forum. I'm wanting some advice on some symptoms that I've been having lately. Last month, I was experiencing some abdominal pain, nausea, as well as other symptoms leading me to believe I was pregnant. I usually have a regular cycle but this time my period arrived late (5 days). I was suffering from the symptoms mentioned but also very puffy and swollen darkened nipples. Because of this, I took a pregnancy test 3 days before I actually got my period and it came back negative. My period seemed like a normal period (although the first day I had a brown discharge) and was pretty heavy (it lasted 5 days). Now, I visited the doctor last week because I'm still suffering from puffy and swollen nipples. She said that she thought it might be a yeast infection on the nipple similar to that that you can get when breastfeeding but I am not leaking any fluid and the nipples do not hurt. I am also suffering from headaches every morning for the last couple of weeks and am struggling to get out of bed in the middle of the night to pee and wake up in the mornings. Do you ladies think that I might be pregnant? I read online that it an occur (very rarely) that you do get your period and could still be pregnant....
