Hoping someone can help me with this. I am 8 days late with my period, i have taken a few tests last week, all negative, i done three over the course of two days and when i went back to them the first one was still negative, the second one had the faintest greyish line and the third one had a faint purple line. They were all first response tests with the caps you put on after peeing on it. I read on this site from a medical professional that as long as the line is pink or purple colour then its correct no matter how long after you have used it as it won't go pink or purple unless it has come into contact with the hormone needed to activate the line. I have just done two dipstick tests and both have came back negative, so now I'm very very confused. Has anyone else ever had this? I called the doctors and they said the tests they do in their lab is not as good as the home pregnancy tests and they won't do a blood test to check for pregnancy only urine sample so not much point going to them. Hopefully someone can help. Thanks.

Its best to stick to what you know for sure is the correct result as there is no point in pinning hope on someyhing doubtful .. do a re test tomorrow morning and see the result in the time window nothin will be more better than that .. if you want to be even more sure even though its hard wait for 3 full days and then test .. till then you should be able to be 100% sure about whatever result you see .. I understand how hard it is when you want to know early but that only leads to lots of confusion and eventual heartbreak ..even though a lot of tests say you can determine pregnancy days before a missed period... its preferable to test 10 days past your missed period date to be sure that the result is clear

thanks mandy, think i will just have to be patient and wait the three days. just annoying because two of the tests are from the same box, one has the faint line and the other doesn't. x
