Hi all, took a test this morning with fmu and this faint line appeared in the test section, what does it mean? I'm 3days late based on a 28 day cycle (my periods are normally irregular but have been having acupuncture to regulate, so just basing this number on as if I had normal cycles!) hope u can help, have been trying not to get my hopes up as only a faint line but can't help it as have been ttc for ages 😞

It's quite a clear line. I did think it was a little to off centre but looking at the control line that's off centre too So may be the test strip is just little out of place. despite that it looks positive. Do u have another test? Give it a day or two and do anouther coz if u r that line should start getting dark. I def see a line though...fingers crossed for u xx

i thought it was too much off centre too but yes the control line is as well. Yes I have another test so will retake in a couple of days. I have told myself over and over again today to not get stressed about it but it's so hard! Have never posted somewhere like here before but just needed to get off my chest!! Thank u for your reply 😊

Oh I so hope you come back in a couple days with a new picture, but I certainly can see a line :) goodluck can't wait to hear back

Thanks guys I will let you know how I get on. I'm going to wait for a couple of days (or as long as I can bear it!) 😳 lol! Xx

So much for me waiting a couple of days! I was a night shift last night and when I woke up this afternoon I took another one (urine held for 5 ish hours). Still the same result. I don't know what I was expecting though!! Lol. I knew it wasn't going to be a dark line but I couldn't wait which is ridiculous. I just can't believe this would be a positive result. I don't have anymore tests but will pick up another more sensitive one (apparently these ones arent that sensitive, boots own? The regular ones not early testing ones) any suggestions? xx

Also I don't have any symptoms......? Everyone says they have sore breasts etc but I feel the same as always x

It looks positive to me, they say a line should get darker every couple of days so I'd try Thursday maybe. But I'd take that as a positive, congratulations xx

I'm pregnant with my fourth and this is the first time I've ever experienced any symptoms. Looks like a clear positive. You could try a clear blue digital coz there's nothing quite like seeing it in writing, don't be alarmed if it say not pregnant though as they're not the most sensitive and r best used after a missed af. Congratulations xx

Thank you Becca, I am hoping it is a positive........the one thing I don't want is for it to be a chemical pregnancy and I have already got my hopes up. Google is a nightmare sometimes! I will buy another to test on Thursday. Do you have any suggestions or should I stick with the same tests? x

Thank you Libragirl! X

A good sensitive test is the superdrug early days but if ur already getting clear faint positives any tests should be ok xx
01/12/2015 at 15:10
Ok thank you......I feel silly but this is all new to me, normally I'm just used to seeing a Big fat negative! Thank you for your help x
01/12/2015 at 15:23
Make sure it's a pink dye test as the blue ones are hard to see, if your period is already missed then a clearblue digital will work but if u've tested early then try a first response or a superdrug test is a good one, I used both with my pregnancy before my miscarriage
They come in packs of 1 or 2 xx

Is that a boots own brand test? If so they all seem to come out off centre and the windows to see into are teeny! Looks a proper positive test to me assuming the test brand is what I thought it was! x

Yes purplestar it is boots own, a normal test not an early test one.
I have never ever had regular periods which hasn't really bothered me before I wanted to ttc. With no idea of when/if I was ovulating I went to the docs and was investigated for pcos by blood tests and scans, all came back normal. They referred me to the fertility clinic, my appt is in 3 weeks time on the 21st dec!
Meanwhile I have been having acupuncture to regulate my periods, I hadn't had a period for 3 months and after my first session I came on a few days later. I then had cervical mucous (sorry, TMI!) around day 12-14 when you would expect if you had a 'normal' 28 day cycle. My husband was away with work so we only had intercourse once on day 14. So.......basing it all on that info and acting like I have 28 day cycles I am now on day 32, so 4 days late.
No symptoms but these 2 faint line tests. I only took the test as my acupuncturist wanted to know either way to prepare for my next session.....I in no way thought I would pregnant!
So I guess that's why I won't believe it until I get a definite line. It seems too good to be true since we have been trying for ages to no avail.
Thanks for listening ladies, it just helps talking to others. I would normally talk to my mum but I don't want to get her hopes up!

If u think your 4 days late I'd say it's worth a try doing a clearblue digital test, they are a little expensive but theres nothing like seeing it say pregnant rather then looking at 2 lines
02/12/2015 at 04:53
Thank you Becca I might do that, but I have been told they aren't very sensitive? I wouldn't want to get something less sensitive than boots own as the lines I have on them are very faint so the digital might come up 'not pregnant' so early on......although I suppose 4 days late (at a guess) isn't early. But then if it isn't early why the faint lines on the boots ones?!?! Grr!!! such first world problems I know!lol.
The best thing to have would be patience, I wonder where I could buy some of that!!!

If u don't want to try a clearblue test yet then I'd get the superdrug one or a first response I found them better then boots. Yea it would be nice to be able to buy patience haha
