Thank you Cooper. I've been thinking of you actually and wondering how you are getting on.
Can't sleep as just want it to be morning so I can phone EPU. Going to try though. Will keep you posted xxx

Ah kind of u to think of me. Currently on CD3 after a 70 day cycle!! Hoping it was a one off freak cycle (fingers crossed!)
Started using my CBFM so we'll see what this cycle brings!
Your BFP has given me hope - delighted for you

Totally 100% normal to be freaking out. Huge congratulations. I hope EPU can offer you a reassurance scan, and that it allays any fears you have xx

Thanks ladies. In my previous experience EPU have been great except the receptionist and today was much the same. She gave me an appointment at the end of June and I said I thought I would get seen earlier than that given the first thing I said was "I had an ectopic"....
So then I questioned it and she said bluntly "well have you had any pain?!" And I said in all honesty I haven't had a normal pregnancy before so I don't know what it's supposed to feel like but yes there has been a bit of pain. She just said "someone will have to phone you back". I've no idea who or when.
Thankfully I'm off work this week but hope someone gets back to me soon. :( Xxx

That's dreadful parky. I hope someone calls you bank straight away.
My friend had an ectopic earlier this year, she had to have one of her tubes removed in the end. She has been told that she must be scanned by 6 weeks if not sooner. I would stand your ground if I was you and I would be severely kicking up a stink about it.
If you don't hear back by tomorrow I would call them again and ask to speak to the person in charge, also, maybe try your gp?

I thought so, Imp. I already challenged it and started to get upset with the woman. I know that to them it's nothing as they hear it all the time but you would think they could be a bit more compassionate. Hoping I get the call today. If not they will be hearing from me at 8am tomorrow. GP is pretty useless as well unfortunately. Last time I was sure something was wrong and he wouldn't refer me. This time I just don't know but last time I was told that I would be seen right away.

Exactly Parky they told us both that. Next time I would say Jane told you that. Bloody insensitivity is not what you need.
If they wont offer a scan this early you'd think they'd at least check your hcg.
I hope you get a call back & the midwives are more helpful xx

They phoned back and are still refusing to see me any earlier than 7 weeks. Earliest appointment they would give me was 20th June. :(
Whoever I spoke to said it was just "niggles" and told me to take paracetamol. I actually can't believe it after last time.
02/06/2014 at 17:42
Oh that is so frustrating!! 7 weeks? U'd think they'd at least do 1 at 6 weeks.
Would ur GP check ur bloods? Or could you phone the GRI EPU for a 2nd opinion? I did that before & although they said the same thing they were very pleasant.
Im so sorry they are being like this. They way they spoke before I thought they would be supportive. Awful to be in limbo but try & stay positive (i know much easier said than done) xxx

I would ask to speak to someone else, are there any guidelines anywhere on this? I am going to have a google and see what I can find.
02/06/2014 at 18:32
Oh Parky, that's disgusting treatment from the EPU. I'm sorry they're being so heartless and I hope you can speak to someone else who can help.
I know you shouldn't have to, but would a private scan be an option?
Sending you a massive hug xx
