Trying to conceive

...and she was really nice. She went through a few basic questions, not as many as I thought she would. She then got me to book in for two blood tests. One a week before my period and one 1-5 days after my period. She also asked me to do a chylamydia (sp?) test (at home) and H to do a sperm test. Also she gave me a basic internal examination which I wasn't expecting but was fine.
Booking the blood tests was a pain, they had to be done in the morning and they couldn't fit me in for next week for the one a week pre bleed, so I'm booked in for the post bleed one and then next month the pre bleed one. Also means taking time off work which I never do, but now I'm thinking stuff it. This is important and work will cope.
So, those of you worrying about going to the doctors I would go and fingers crossed it will be as positive for you as for me.

Good news it went well. The ball is officially moving! You might not need any extre help but at least it will be available shortly if you wish for it :-)

Did you get given the form for the blood tests to take away? If so, you can just go to the phlebotomy department at your local hospital and have it done there and then. Sometimes you have to wait, but at mine they have 5 nurses just taking blood. The longest I have had to wait is 15 minutes. Just turn up on the relevant day with your form. Ta da!

I found it more convenient to go to the hospital for bloods too. Wish I'd known it was an option sooner as getting timings right through GP took a couple of cycles.
That's great that it was a positive experience, hope it encourages others too x

Ducky&LL see I was told I had to book if I went to the local hospital. I'll bear that in mind for future though, thanks.

Oh right, I just turn up and take a ticket and wait for my number to be called. It's like being at the cheese counter :-)
