Im back from my New York holiday now and officially TTC! My last pill was on Monday. I started cramping yesterday but nothing to show for it so far.
just wondering how long it took for others AF to show up after stopping the pill (I was on cerazette if that makes a difference)
and then I assume that when it arrives I count that as Cd1, even though it's not a real AF but just withdrawal from the pill?
sorry for the stupid questions. I've been lurking on here for a while but it feels different to now be starting myself!
Thanks in advance for any replies!

I just wanted to say congratulations and good luck for your TTC journey, I hope it's a very short one. I don't know anything about TTC when coming off the pill so I hope someone will be along soon to answer your question

Hope you had a fab holiday Lisa! When AF does finally make an appearance, you can count that as CD1. I was on Microgynon, and it worked that i would have a withdrawal bleed about 3 days after the last pill taken. It may take a while for your cycle to settle down into a routine depending on how long you were on the pill for. You may find that you don't OV the first month, or you OV late or early for a couple of cylces. I was only on the pill for 6 months prior to coming off it again to start TTC #2 and my first month off it, i ovulated later than normal, but i've ovulated on time this cycle (Compared to my previous cycles before falling pregnant the first time)
I hope your TTC journey is a short one! Please come and chat with us over on the TTC Chat threads!

Hi Lisa I've got nothing else to add but just wanted to say welcome! Hope you have a short journey x

Welcome back Lisa Moo - how was your holiday? RKB is spot on with her advice - I'd second all that so nothing much more to add. Best of luck and feel free to drop into our weekly threads to get to know us & tell us all about you. Oh and, ask us anything you like - we love helping :-)

My first cycle off the pill was over 80 days but I had been on it 10yrs +. Had a few 70, 60,50 odd day cycles until they settled into 35-42 days.
Apparently this can be very normal so please don't get disheartened if they don't settle as quick as you like.
Hope your TTC journey is short.

Wow thank you for all the replies!
My holiday was fab, although very hot and busy as we were put doing touristy stuff every day!
Thanks for the advice about what happens now - I guess it's just a waiting game really to see what happens! I've been on the pill for about 6.5 years and before I went on it I didn't have AF for 9 months anyway due to my PCOS so I think might be in for a long wait!
My doctor has already said that if we are not getting anywhere in 6 months to go back and he'll refer us as we have a known issue already, but I'm obviously hoping that it doesn't come to that and that my cycles do return!
I will get myself on to the chat threads to try and get to know you all a bit better!

Hi Lisa, I came off the pill (Yasmin) in November after been on it for about 14 years, and I didn't have AF until about 3 months later, then my cycle seemed to settle at around 43 days, I was thinking something was wrong and it was very hard to track when I was ovulating etc but I got a BFP in July so try not to get disheartened if it feels like it's taking ages to sort it self out. Good luck and wishing you a short TTC journey x

Hi, I have been lurking here too. I came off the pill (Ovranette) in March, after being on it for 17 years without a break. I had usual w/d bleed, and counting that as CD1, my first proper period was exactly 28 days later, so guess I am lucky. Since then I have had cycles of 21, 26, 30 and 27 days so not really regular. We are TTC for the first time this month, and we get married on 5 September. Good luck x

Woo woo it sounds like you're writing my story. That's exactly what happened to me.
Good luck Lisa! I hope your TTC journey is a short one. Everyone here has been really warm and friendly to me. Welcome!xx

Thank you everyone.
There has been no change here - my cramps have all but disappeared but still no AF so I'm just waiting!
I'll just be pleased if something happens - not expecting anything regular but something would be nice!
Good luck for your wedding Crazy Rat Lady - not long to go now!

I came off the pill after 16 years and waited 39 days before my first AF arrived. Everyone is different with this and unfortunately it's just a waiting game.
Best of luck and I wish you a short and easy TTC journey x
