Trying to conceive

So I think next cycle I am going to give in and try temping! I'm starting to think I might only ov every other cycle and I know the only other more accurate way of finding out is temping so here are my questions.
Disturbed Sleep? I have seen a few of you mention disbturbed sleep has affected your temps. I get up the same time every week day and H gets up an hour before me, in the hour he is up sometimes (not every day) I will half wake up, I never get out of bed in this hour but I do sometimes wake up and then fall back to sleep for the remaining time I have, would this affect my temps or would they still be ok to do when my alarm goes off?
Alcohol? I don't drink everyday but will have a few glasses of wine over the course of a weekend or if I go out during the week, a couple of times during a month I might have more then I should and get drunk lol! I know if I get drunk this affects temps so I would definitely avoid drinking alot when temping but what I'm wondering is would a couple of glasses in an evening affect my temp the next morning or would that be ok?
Finally, can you tell me what thermometers you all use?
Thanks all xx

According to FF, you are supposed to have 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep before taking your temp and it needs to be at the same time every day to be most accurate. I've temped for 2 cycles and both cycles I had lots of interrupted sleep and both times, FF was still able to pinpoint my ov (I also temped at different times too) so I don't think it's *that* important however, when starting out, I'd try to stick to the same time and get some 'good' cycles in first as, it's all data, and the more you have, the better FF can be for you.
Alcohol - I don't drink so I'm probably not the best to answer this for you. My understanding, based on what I've read and the other ladies on here, is that drinking can increase your temp so could cause the ov spike incorrectly on your chart. I think someone posted a chart on here once showing how drink impacted it - I'll have a search and see can dig it out for you.
You have to use a BBT as it needs to go to 2 decimal places - I bought this one: www.ebay.co.uk/.../310181567302. They give you a free download of a chart or you can use Fertility Friend - I love the latter as it's easy see all the signs and you can do analysis too - if you get the VIP membership.

ahh, here we are: mumdrum.com/.../16828.aspx - it's Sapphire that mentioned the impact of alcohol - it's the eighth post on the second page of this post. However, I will mention that, if it does spike after alcohol and then goes back down the next day, FF won't mark it as ov as you need 3 consecutive high temps to confirm ov so I don't think it matters. I'd just note it on the chart in the notes section or discard it if you feel you don't want FF to note it.
Hope this helps. I'll start a chart flash thread so those of us who do temp can throw on some of our charts showing various trends....
