Trying to conceive

i had a positive opk last Wednesday so ff put me as ovulating on Thursday. my temp dipped and stayed dipped for Thursday Friday and Saturday and then has risen Sunday Monday and Tuesday.
When it comes to temps, is it just the dip that indicates ovulation? Where in the dip and rise are you supposed to have ovulated? If that makes sense? Just wondering if ff got the day wrong or how the temping thing actually worked. I thought the rise was due to progestogene (sp?) after ovulation so that would make the dip ovulation but I might just be making that up.

Can you flash your chart?

With mine I had a dip, then back to normal temp, then next day rise, and FF put my crosshairs on the day between the dip and rise. I think if your temps are accurate it's supposed to rise the day after you ovulate... Is it possible you had an LH surge but didn't ovulate, so your body waited a couple more days to try again? Did you use opks any day after Wednesday? Based on temps I would say you ovulated Saturday, but that's a bit late for a Wednesday positive opk...

I got it wrong - just double looked at my chart and the dip and stayed dip was before the positve opk and then the day after the opk I had a large rise, and then it dipped the day after (so 2 days after opk it dipped again) and then rose for 3 more days. I think FF told me once that it has to have three consecutive rises to indicate ovulation so because I had a second dip would that mean it was delayed or that it just didnt happen?
i guess the question is, if theres one dip and then surge is that enough to suggest ovulation? I also had another dip today, in theory 6DPO, which doesnt seem right. also because my thermometer broke i have no idea what my coverline is to know if this dip today is below coverline.

I would say ovulation was on Thursday. What happened on Saturday that FF didn't think it was a true temp? I think the main issue is that you haven't been consistent enough with the temping, so FF is confused.

I woke up an hour later because it was the weekend.
So would you say ovulation happens in the dip as it were. just for future cycles for me to know.

There's not always a dip with ovulation, in fact loads of women don't experience it.
I think that the temping hasn't been consistent enough this cycle to be sure, but I can appreciate that it's not always possible, especially if you have longer cycles.
