Trying to conceive

Hi, I am trying to conceive naturally. My cycle is only 26 days I have been tracking this for the last few months. So by everything I have read online would ovulation occur on day 12? So the best time to ttc would be day 10 to day 13? It is through doner so will not have many opportunities so really trying to pinpoint the best time. Thank you

Was there something wrong in my post that not even one person would comment a reply, when I see so many others being helpful on other posts???

Day 12 sounds about right - download a period tracker app as they can really help pinpoint ovulation, providing you put in your symptoms. Also, egg white cervical mucus (EWCM) is a really good indicator you're ovulating, so try and use your donor then if you can. Good luck x

Thank you for the answer. Yes a tracker sounds good. I was only unsure if I had broken some rule by mentioning donor is all. Thanks

I would use an opk hun if using a donor to be sure:) I have a 25-28 day cycle and always get a positive opk around cd10:)
good luck xxx

I made a friend on here that used a donor as her partner had zero sperm count sadly. They stayed positive and tried a few ideas to up the count to no avail:/ she used opks and inseminated on her positive days and it worked first time! she was so elated!! No harm in using donors we all have the same aim which is to get preggers 😃
I wish you every success and don’t worry what other people think!

I'm very new to all this so am unsure what opk is or cd10? It will be my first time trying and the doner lives miles away so will be meeting up and I'm hoping to ttc from day 10 to day 13. Also is there any tips anyone could give me to possibly increase the chances of concieveing, for me or him. He is very open to trying everything possible. Thank you for the response.x

Ok cd = cycle day for short!
You must count your cycle from day 1 of AF ( meaning Aunt flo! -period!)
so yes you are definitely on the right track for days 10-13:)
opks are brilliant! They are Ovulation predictor kits. Same as a pregnancy test you wee on them on day 10 if you think that’s roughly when u ovulate and if you are indeed about to soon release an egg ( ovulate) then you will get 2 pink lines the same colour.
If you aren’t ovulating as yet the test line will be very faint ( lighter than the control line)
They are cheap on Amazon and very easy to use they helped me fall pregnant:)
here’s one of mine
As you can see 2 very dark lines which means you will release an egg in 12-24 hrs so a very good time to inseminate
Your test line is nearest the black line with ( Max) written on it you pee onto that bottom section the pink travels up revealing the 2 lines the 2nd line ( near the green section will always be dark) that’s your comparison line.
Doesthis make sense?
You are most fertile for 3 days before it goes very dark and the day of your positive and one day after
The test picks up your LH surge which causes your egg to release so we’ll worth doing.
Mine are the brand called ‘one step‘off Amazon and you can get 30-50 tests for £5
You wee on them maybe twice per day leading up to Ovulation do one at about 10am and again at 3pm so you don’t miss the surge
I start testing cd8 every morning and afternoon and it gradually darkens until normally cd10/11 when I get my positive once positive you don’t need to test anymore as you know you will ovulate very soon.
I can’t recommend them enough:)
As for the mans input my gynaecologist suggests every other day for build up of good swimmers! That’s about it!!

Thank you that information is exactly what I was looking for, ive saved it and am going to follow that exactly. Ive also just ordered opk from amazon so will start testing from day 8. Just to be sure thats day 8 from the first day of my period? So even if they lasted 6 days I start testing 2 days after they finish? Thank you for all the help. After one misscarriage some years ago I'm feeling positive for this chance

Yes cd1 first full day of bleeding ( not spotting)
I test from day 8 other ladies test right from their period finishing. You could if u wanted to on your first cycle of trying them do every day after AF ends to get an idea of your pattern. As I’ve used them for years ( I’ve got 3 children and had 5 miscarriages) I know mine are always positive around cd9 to the latest positive being cd14 on a 28 day cycle. My cycles are between 25-28 days due to the miscarriages unsettling things. I’ve settled again at 26 days with ovulation being days 10 & 11.
I have ovulated on day 7 before so there’s no harm starting early if u want too! If your period is 5 days u could test day 6 if u wanted entirely up to you:)
my 2nd line stays very faint but always a line there which is normal. Then it gradually darkens until positive. Mine stay positive for 1-2 days generally then the opk will fade away again. Have a little play with them when you get them so you know what you are looking out for :) I just wee on the end carefully below the black line for a good few seconds but don’t wee over the middle or it can go a bit too wet and not work. Or some ladies collect some wee in a clean pot and dip test again up to you:)
I also take vitamins called pregnacare trying to conceive as they have vitamins to make sure your body/ eggs are in reasonable shape and the right anount of folic acid
They do a male version too
wellman trying to conceive:)
