Trying to conceive

I'm feeling so much better after my miserable post yesterday so I thought I would start the daily thread. How is everyone today? I'm so glad it's nearly Friday.
ST not long to go for you now, got everything crossed for you x
Dolly I hope you had a safe journey home yesterday, where were you?
Tayto any sign of AF?
AFM - Got all my appointment details through last night so just need to wait for the call to hopefully confirm tomorrow. The difference going private is amazing, I read all the info about treatment and if we need it and want to go private there is no waiting list! Obviously it is expensive but it is something we would consider I think if we need it.
Hi to all who follow!

Forgot to add, Holey did you do another test today?
09/10/2014 at 09:45
Glad you're feeling better today Lulu - down days are par for the course unfortunately, but they do tend to go just as quickly as they come. Great news that you've got your appointment details through. How long is the waiting list on the NHS? If you did go private, would you lose any opportunity of NHS treatment further down the line?
So, tomorrow is ET day - it doesn't quite feel real yet. It does depends on the thaw as well, so hopefully our first two will thaw perfectly and we'll still have the other one left in storage. But we'll see. As long as we get one shot and this whole process isn't wasted I'll be happy.
Hope everyone else is doing ok x

LuLu I'm so pleased to hear that you're feeling more upbeat today! Hope they call you soon!
ST - So much luck for tomorrow! Let me just warn you, you won't sleep a wink tonight, but that feeling when you leave the hospital PUPO is quite amazing. I have every faith in your little snowbabies they'll be just fine. Do you know when they are being thawed? x
09/10/2014 at 09:59
I hope I do sleep Claire, I'm looking forward to not having to wake up fully before 6am! My intention is to briefly wake for long enough to attend to the pessary and then go back to sleep for an hour or so. They said they'd do the thawing first thing, so I should get the call late morning/lunchtime-ish.

Ok, well lots of luck I'll be thinking of you.

Good morning ladies,
Lulu - Pleased to hear you are feeling brighter today. Did they send you details on further fertility treatment privately? Hopefully you won't need to. Is there a long waiting list in your area on the NHS? I was in Edinburgh so got home about 9pm last night, I watched the bake-off final on the iplayer though.
ST - Everything crossed for you for and your little frosties x
Claire - How are you today?
AFM - I'm at home all day today and the cold is now on it's way out. Today is my Friday! I'm going to a knitting and stitching show with my MIL at Ally Pally tomorrow. She wanted to go and had no one to go with so I volunteered, I like a bit of sewing!
09/10/2014 at 10:08
Thanks Claire :) how are you feeling today?
Dolly - Glad the cold is getting better. I used to go to those shows with my mum a lot, but never there - we've done Manchester, Birmingham, Kensington Olympia, Harrogate, probably others too. What sort of sewing do you do?
09/10/2014 at 10:13
Nothing that clever, bunting, Christmas decorations, cushions, simple things really!! I need to get better at it!
09/10/2014 at 10:24
ST - No idea on the waiting list in my area, I'm just going to see what happens with these tests and at least I know if I can't get NHS funding I have some inheritance money put by that I can use for treatment if needed. From what I've read online even if we have treatment privately we'll still be able to have NHS treatment if it fails so I could have it done whilst waiting but that is all something to think about later on. Tons of vibes to you and your snow babies ST got everything crossed for you tomorrow.
Morning Claire how are you today?
Dolly P - Glad you didn't have far to come and got to watch the bake off. I love Ally Pally I used to live near there! Have a great day tomorrow! x
09/10/2014 at 10:26
Dolly - Glad the cold is clearing up and that sounds like a lovely thing to do, I am so rubbish at sewing but I really admire what people can do and love bunting and lovely homey things. I wish I was creative!
I'm ok, starting to feel a bit queasy, I've had to have my medication increased and for just 2 weeks worth of extra drugs it's costing me nearly £60, and I'll have to continue these drugs until I get to 13 weeks so best keep a lid on the budget at this rate.
09/10/2014 at 10:36
Sorry I didn't get back yesterday - work turned manic.
Lulu - glad you are feeling better today - hopefully they'll call you soon to confirm.
ST - I'm really rooting for you tomorrow, lots of vibes for your little embies thawing ok. x
Nice to see you Claire - £60 for extra meds? Wowzers - hope you cope with the queasyness ok.
Hi Dolly - glad your cold is getting better - enjoy your stitching show.
AFM - still waiting on AF, spotting yesterday morning and this morning - she's just biding her time. Working from home today as I have an asthma check at the docs today.
Hi to any who follow. x
09/10/2014 at 10:55
Dolly - any crafting is good! I think there's something really lovely about handmade bits and bobs, I love the personal touch.
Lulu - Have you ever looked at the HFEA website? That should give you some idea on waiting times guide.hfea.gov.uk/.../AdvancedSearch.aspx
Claire - £60?!?! That's more than double what the IVF meds cost me. What do you have to continue on? I think I remember a mention from the clinic that the progesterone continues until 13 weeks but they've never mentioned anything else to me. Sorry you're feeling queasy but it must be quite reassuring in a way.
SallyLou - Hope AF hurries herself up if she must show. I love WFH days, I don't get those any more so I'm a bit jealous!
09/10/2014 at 11:08
Sallylou - I hope af arrives soon then if she is on her the way, the quicker she is here the quicker she can bugger off again!
ST - Thanks for that website, I just had a quick look and the clinic I am going to for tests says no waiting list for NHS patients so I guess I'll just see what happens if / when we get to that point.
No Tayto today?
09/10/2014 at 11:19
ST - During my treatment I was on 2 cylogest and 4 estradiol, since my positive test I have to take 3 cylogest and 8 estradiol and they charge per tablet!
09/10/2014 at 11:39
Lulu - glad it helped :) no waiting list sounds great. Fingers crossed that you can get things moving quickly if you need to!
Claire - No way!!! Did that apply beforehand too? I was charged just the normal prescription cost for each item. For the fresh cycle I had 4 different things so that was just over £30 and this time it was 3 so £25ish. Do you have to take the 8 tablets separately or can you take 2 at a time?
09/10/2014 at 12:21
ST - I think it's because this cycle was self funded, with my fresh that was nhs funded I paid what you did. I take all 8 at night, I was advised to do so to sleep through any possible side effects and I have to say I've had none, apart from a bit of a dry mouth in the mornings. x
09/10/2014 at 12:22
You can take the tablets at any time of the day in any number you like providing you take the full dose in that day.
09/10/2014 at 12:35
Lulu - Glad to hear you're feeling better today - great news on the appointment - I will have everything crossed that the procedure will make you nice and fertile this next cycle! x
ST - this must have felt like the longest week in history! Lots and lots of vibes for tomorrow for your frosties and the ET x
Claire - wow, that's extortionate! Can you get any back through tax? Or does it not hit the min amount spend? Sorry to hear you're feeling queasy - hope that buggers off soon!
Dolly - Enjoy the knitting show!
Sally - hope AF shows up soon
AFM - AF finally showed last night and I'm having a really bad time with it. *TMI Alert* - very light flow but in horrific pain! On the upside, no more peeing in a pot for the CB study thankfully!
09/10/2014 at 13:55
Tayto - I don't really know I'll look into it though, thank you. Oh sorry the witch has arrived. I always get bad pains on the first day but no so bad the second, hope it eases for you. You need chocolate and a chick flick to make it better :)
