Enjayee - Glad you're doing ok so far I hope you don't have to deal with the disapointment anymore xx
Hopeful - What treatment will you be having do you know yet? How does the refferal process work where you are? Our doctor reffered us last week and we will see a NHS specialist first then if we get funding for treatment we go to the private clinic.
Also another question for anyone who had had refferals, how long does the appointment take to come through? Our doc said the waiting time is around 4 weeks so I'm wondering when we will get the letter with the appointment in? We went last week and so for nothing am I just being really impatient? I don't expect to have the actual appointment yet but just want to know when it will be.
Tayto still thinking of you lovely xx
Hope everyone else is doing ok xxx

Room for a gatecrasher? Lulu, have a look on this link and find your clinic guide.hfea.gov.uk/guide - you should be able to get some kind of idea of waiting times from this. It varies from clinic to clinic; we were referred in the late October and had our first appointment at the clinic early January, I can't remember how long it took for the appointment to come through but I think it was a couple of weeks or so.
Sending all of you lovely TTCers lots of luck - I'll get back to stalking quietly now! xx

Hi Lulu hi everyone
Where I am, everything was done on line using check and book service. My GP gave me referral code etc. I had a choice of hospitals and could see the availability and choose date on there. I could of been seen this month but wanted a particular NHS hospital so decided to wait. Also with work etc I can get moving faster after the date I have booked.
If want to go private, then just need to let my GP know where and she will send referral letter. Going to an open day today so if like the place will ask for a referral. Wait will be 4-6
As for what treatment I want to try IUI first and then IVF if required but will see what the doctors say. Not sure if will get NHS treatment funded but plan to give it a go. Date for NHS visit is 24 April week after back from Boston.

Hi ST how are you getting on? Thanks for the link, the wait times seem quite short which is good although I don't go straight to a clinic I have to see the NHS specailist first which is a wait time of around 4 weeks (that is what my doctor told me) once I've seen her then she will refer me to one of the clinics. It is possible she will want me to have all the tests done again as well which is really annoying as I had them done privatelyl to save time but I don't think that is going to be the case :-(
Thanks Hopeful that is really good you can just do it all online, do did you just see you doc and no other specailist? Sorry you've probably already told us but have you had all your tests done? Good luck at the open evening tonight.

Hello again Lulu
Yes just seen GP so far. I have had blood tests done and an ultrasound scan last year as was suffering from painful erratic periods :-(. All came back normal. Will no doubt need more tests. H has had SA month or so back. My age is a determining factor as will soon be 42! Urgency is on.
Will update how things go this afternoon later.

Nice to see a bit of movement again.
Lulu - from yesterday's thread - no distractions really, work is very busy though! See below update though. Hope you get your appointment through soon, shame you think you'll have to have the tests done again though.
Enjayee - hope you are doing ok in your 2ww. Sounds likes you are keeping nice and busy.
ST - I hope you are keeping well. I look our for your updates. xx
Hopeful - hope the open day goes well.
AFM - According to FF I'm 10DPO, but it's not too sure. Had some light spotting yesterday and similar to today so assuming I'm out as following same pattern as every month. I shouldn't feel down until AF actually arrives but had a mega cry last night when I saw it so feeling pretty disheartened.
Hi to all who follow. xx

Hopeful - That is good you only had to see your gp, I feel like we're having to go and see a middle man first never mind. Hope to hear a good update from you later.
Sally - I really do know how you feel as I also get the spotting and I know it is really disheartening. Do you do opks as well as temping to get an idea on ov? Feel free to rant away here if you need to.
I don't know if it's just coinsidence but I've felt really down and less positive ever since my acupuncture at the weekend :-( I hope I start to feel happy again soon it's tiring be miserable all the time!

Back from the open afternoon. Got a tour of the facilities and got to have a good chat with a nurse. May well be that go straight to IVF instead of trying IUI but that is something that will need to be discussed with a doctor further down the line. I think will ask GP for referral in the next few days. That way wheels in motion if do need to go private. Was reassuring to be able to chat about the internal scans required and see the probe. Issue for me because of my Vaginismus problem. IVF will entail a general anaesthetic and is a lot more intense than IUI and something I need to get my head round but if needs must then I'm happy to go down this route if it gives us a chance of a baby.
So basically I now have a plan of action. See if I get NHS treatment but if not know that we are fortunate enough to be able to afford to go private.
