I used to get horrible ovulation pains which made bedding really painful. Could it be that? X

Sounds like your cervix is low, which doesn't usually happen when you're ovulating. Ovulation means a high, soft and open cervix, whereas infertile times are low, hard and closed. Either way, I wouldn't worry, just sounds like it's your cervix and nothing serious. He'll just have to go more careful.
Edit: 'speculating', typo! = ovulating.

Hey hun! I had this the month we got pregnant, I was really discouraged as read that it was because cervix was low so therefore not a fertile time. I had got positive ovulation tests so was discouraged that either they were wrong or we weren't going to be successful because my cervix wasn't in optimum position. But got my bfp that month!!! So don't be discouraged! Could be a good sign for you as well! I had never felt it before!! x
