Trying to conceive

I guess it's CD2 for me - barely any red there when I woke up this morning but when I went to the bathroom that soon changed. I know I'm not far along in my TTC journey but I still am so disappointed and I feel like a giant idiot for getting my hopes up. I woke up this morning with massive puffy eyes from crying all night - wasn't just the arrival of AF, it was that my husband and I had a massive fight over it as I don't feel like he has my back when we're ruled out the game. Last night all I wanted was a hug from him and that was IT ... but he told me that he couldn't believe how upset I get over it and started quoting the whole "the average couple take a year" statistic. Even though that's true, it's not what you want to hear.
Anyway, sorry for the ramble - still feeling very upset this morning. I'm going to try to go to the doctor still as the brown discharge was a very unusual thing to happen to me, along with the sore boobs that early on in the cycle. Also very unusual for AF to show up three days early. A day sometimes, yes, but never three. I hope it's simple to fix and I just hope I don't need any scans or more prodding around.
Sorry, sorry ... I'll come back when I'm feeling a bit more upbeat!

Enjayee, I know exactly how you feel. In the beginning this is how my H acted then one day after months of trying he flipped a switch and started bring me flowers and chocolate when AF came. it takes them a while to realise how upsetting it is for us when our bodies fail to do the thing we've always been told could happen after having sex just once.
Sorry AF is here and you take as much time as you want to wallow in self pity. God knows we all do it when AF comes. Hope your TTC journey doesn't take too long x

Enjayee - sorry that af arrived and that last night was so rubbish. I hope you got your hug in the end though. Take the time you need and we'll be here when you get back.
LoopyGladys - hello.
AFM - another temp rise this morning so ff has put my crosshairs in, according to which today I'm cd15 (3dpo) so 2ww here we are already.

Enjayee - my OH is the same. What I've tried to tell myself is that he just responds to it differently. Someone mentioned on here before that men often don't get upset because that might lead to them worrying about whether there is something wrong with them, or even that they might need testing. Instead some men just convince themselves it'll happen in time. It doesn't bother them when it doesn't because it will in the future.
Sapphire welcome to the 2ww! Hope it flies by.
AFM 6dpo, spotting and cramping away. Boobs have been a bit tender but then I've finally convinced myself not to focus on anything I feel before 10dpo as it will only be normal monthly hormonal changes for me. Leads to far less random googling!

Enjayee - don't apologise - it's completely understandable. Have a massively inadequate internet weirdy hug from me x
LoopyGladys - hi! Love the avatar!
Sapphire - good luck in the 2ww
AFM - CD7 so nothing to report - roll on Friday and my appointment.

AFM - CD9, was unable to do opk last night as I was out but will do one tonight, sorry if tmi but had lots of cm this morning I don't think its ewcm and it would be too early for that surely? I think I normally ov around cd14.
18/03/2014 at 09:34
Veecee - missed you there! Signs sound so positive so best of luck.
Lulu - what's the texture of the cm like? If it's stretchy, it's definitely EWCM - do the baby dance just in case! :-)

Enjaynee, I'm so sorry to hear that it is CD2 I had my hopes up for you, please don't feel like an idiot for getting your hopes up I know I would've been the same especially as that bleeding so could have been IB. It sounds like the conversation you had with your OH last night has been played out in many households including mine in the TTC process. I think it is much easier for men to detach themselves from the process in the early days, it's not them who spend two weeks desperately trying to convince themselves not to symptom spot when we are really and hoping more with each thing you think you see. My OH has eventually come round to understanding how I feel as much as he can and is now more supportive, but hopefully you will be pregnant before your OH gets a chance too!! I really hope you feel brighter soon xx
Sapphire, can't believe you are back in the 2ww already, that past 2 weeks flew by!
LoopyG, Hi there!
Veecee, fingers crossed for you, not to encourage symptom spotting but the signs sound good.
Tayto, Hi I do love a good pack of cheese and onion Taytos! you make me hungry!
Lulu, Hi, it could be ewcm as it can come a few days before ov to get you ready, no harm in dtd anyway!!
CC, sorry to hear you had a bad night, I hope you've had some rest now and can take it easy today. Fingers and toes are crossed for you this month xx
AFM, well it's my birthday today!! H and I went to the Drs this morning and he was very nice. I'm booked in for blood tests on CD 22 and H is going to have sperm analysis. He said not to worry though and 94% of couples conceive by 18 months. He also advised I take vitamin D so will start that. I also had my first acupuncture session on Friday, it went well and I left feeling much more positive and hopeful. I am starting a low GI diet which will help both H and I, and my H will be having a handful of walnuts everyday as they improve sperms DNA apparently, and lots of berries!

CC - sorry to hear about the bad night - at least you got some cuddles :-)
DollyP - Hapy birthday! Glad to hear you're feeling positive about it all & good luck for the upcoming tests. Didn't know that about the walnuts & berries!
18/03/2014 at 13:14
Happy Birthday DollyP!
Fingers crossed for your test results! Glad accupuncture went well, Good luck sith the GI diet too. Glad you are feeling positive!
Think we all need a bit of positive thinking here.

T4yt0 - It is a bit so I guess it could be, will be interesting to see what my opk says tonight!
CC - Sorry you had a bad night, glad your h was there for you x
Dolly P - Happy Birthday!! Do you have any plans for today? Glad the doctors went well and you are feeling more positive, that is a good statistic so there is hope for all of us!
Another question from me, I've read a couple of times now about taking vitamin d, I am taking folic acid that also contains vitamin d is that enough or should I take it as a separate vitamin? Would it be ok to the folic acid with vitamin d and another vitamin d tablet or would that be too much? I've read so many different things and about so many vitamins I don't want to take them all but at the same time I want to have a good change lol! Any advice would be much appriciated :-)
18/03/2014 at 13:35
Lulu how much have you got in your dose of Folic acid and Vitamin D? I take separate Vitamin D and that 25PG once a day. Don't forget you can get Vitamin D in foods too :)
18/03/2014 at 13:47
I read that when taking vitamin supplements your body just takes what it needs and the rest comes out I guess with other waste. The doctor way saying to me with us living in the northern hemisphere its common not to get enough vitamin D. If your folic acid tablet contains the recommended daily intake or more that itself should do you I would hope.

VC – stop googling! It’s a dangerous thing but fingers are tightly crossed for you.
T4yto – hope Friday comes around quick for you and your appointment.
Lulu – it could be ewcm because isn’t that just showing you’re fertile, so a good reason to be dtd. While I was pregnant I took the folic acid and vit D separately (I don’t take vit D now). I imagine the combined one would be fine as I’m sure it’s probably the same amount that’s suggested once pregnant (depending on the area you live).
CC – glad your H was there for cuddles. How are you doing today? And of course, fingers crossed for you.. especially with our dates being in sync. I really hope it’s your month.
DollyP – Happy Birthday!! Glad the acupuncture went well, hope all the tests go well too. Positive thinking is a great thing to have!
18/03/2014 at 13:58
Thanks all, I'm not sure how much vitamin d it contains I will have a look tonight!
18/03/2014 at 18:17
Enjayee- sorry you are so down, I hope your H can understand the disappointment soon.
Sapphire- hope 2ww goes quickly for you
Veecee, we're on a similar point at the moment. I'm also trying desperately to stay away from google
T4yt0 - hope the appointment comes quickly for you
Lulu - I'd DTD just in case!
CC - sorry you had a rubbish night, glad ovulation seems to have happened
Dolly- happy birthday! I'm glad the drs was good. Hopefully you'll get some answers soon.
AFM - 7/8 dpo, just waiting! No symptoms. I'm trying to convince myself this won't be our cycle so I'm not disappointed when AF arrives but it's so hard not to wonder how pregnant I'd be by certain occasions this year if we were v.lucky this time!
18/03/2014 at 19:17
You lot are so nice!! I have had tears reading your lovely messages xxxx
We've had a chat and we'll be ok. I don't think he fully gets it yet but it might take time. I'm going to the GP on Thursday (earliest appointment I could get). I have a little inkling that I could perhaps have had a very early MC due to (***warning TMI***) the thickness and colour of what I was producing plus the fact that I had slight cramping AND that I NEVER come on early. I also had terrible night sweats last night which I never get, I woke up absolutely drenched. I could just have had disturbed sleep. But even if I'm wrong, it will be good to know what it could possibly have been so if I get it the next time I can put it down to that and not IB.
Happy BIrthday DollyP! Happy that your doctor appointment was good :-)
Sapphire, hope these next two weeks fly by!
T4yt0 - hope your appointment is here in no time
veecee - I would tell you to stay away from Google but I know how hard that can be!
LuLu - DTD anyway, it can't hurt and you'll have fun :-)
CC - keep DTD!
