Trying to conceive

Not a lot of people know my husband and I are ttc and it's starting to make me sad not being able to talk about our journey. So I thought I could start a thread on here for people in the same/similar boat to us and maybe, just maybe we might end up being due around the same too!
We only started ttc in April 2017 after being on the pill for years. I fell pregnant straight away but was bleeding really heavily (sorry tmi!) Right from before I even knew. The bleeding lessened but continued constantly and I ended up miscarrying at 7 weeks.
We had another month of trying but failing, then last month I had faint lines show up that lasted a week starting at 12dpo, I woke in the night on 15dpo in terrible pain and af turned up the next day and my little line disappeared. So an early mc for me last month.
This month we tried and failed again. (I think, as af arrived this morning. Although with my 1st preg that meant nothing!) But assuming I'm now at cycle day 1. Apart from my miscarriages (when I ovulate early) I'm a strong 29 day cycle. Af finishes cd8, I have an LH surge cd16 & 17, and then day 29 is the day before af is due.
Here we go again!

Hi Rainbow. I too am on CD1 today. Nobody knows my husband and I are trying either and we have been trying since January. The first three months I had no period and did not ovulate so only really started properly in April.
I too had been on the pill for years so wasn't unexpected. I thought this month would be the one as AF was late, but she arrived with full vengeance today.
It's difficult having no-one to talk to, especially when there seems to be babies everywhere! I know how you feel
Like you say - here we go again! X

So difficult, I think within the first two weeks of my first miscarriage, I had about 4 pregnancy announcements. It pretty much killed me.
I'm sorry you've been having no luck either 😟 I hope you'll stay on this thread and keep updating me on how you're doing!
How long is your cycle? I've been using an app called Flo which has been helping me keep track.

My cycle is 29 days and I've been using OPKs to help keep track of ovulation. Most of the females in my family are currently pregnant which makes it difficult for me too. All they talk about is babies and I have to just grin and join in as best I can.
Sorry to hear about your miscarriages - that must be doubly hard?
I will definitely keep in this thread - sounds like you and I have a bit in common! X

It gets hard to grin and bear after a while doesn't it?
I don't know if it is any harder? It's so sad and it definitely affected me a lot, the 7wk one more so... But I don't know if I could call it harder without having experienced the alternative. I think either or is fairly rubbish in different ways!

i didn't get a positive opk this month and my cycle was only 26 days, feel the worst today would be nice to share it with you ladies

I hear annovulatory cycles are completely normal and hopefully this new month you'll get back into your rhythm! At least it was over in a short 26days (although I'm sure it feels like forever!)
How long is your cycle usually?
Welcome to our chat 🤗

Hi Rainbow. Definitely gets harder as the months go by. At first you know it will take a while but as months roll on you can't help wondering why it's taking so long.
Fiona - try not to get too disheartened. I've been there too.
We just need to keep thinking maybe this month?
Is anyone taking any kind of pre pregnancy vitamin (other than folic acid)? I've thought about it but hear conflicting opinions.

Hi rainbow! Glad to be part of a chat, I used to be on here years ago and it's difficult to get back into it again!
hi Ruby! fingers crossed, just a real sense of this isn't going to happen for a long time and it's affecting me!
my cycles used to be all over the place but this year they have been 28-31 days which is such a nice change from anything up to 72 days 😱
Ive been taking folic acid and some vitamins
24/08/2017 at 19:48
Ruby yes, for sure. I started off using seven seas 'trying for a baby' I think this was just folic acid and zinc. But then I miscarried and wondered if I was going wrong somewhere so now I'm using pregnacare conception. I heard some ladies have had issues with it but mine has been smooth sailing so far. But I miscarried on this one too so I don't think there was anything wrong with the seven seas! Also cheaper!!
I've been on folic acid for about two years anyway... I'm b12 anaemic and have quarterly injections, but once my bloods came back with low folic acid as well so I've always covered myself in that respect.
After the two miscarriages I tried to get my Dr to do some bloods seen as we already know my bloods not perfect, but they said they wouldn't look at it until 18months of trying!
I only heard recently about the issues with pregnacare. I'm going to stick with it, but if I wasn't on it, I wouldn't start using it for risk of putting my cycle out of joint. Try seven seas!

That's rubbish I'm sorry your cycles have a mind if their own! Before my years of the pill I used to have 14day at. Was terrible!
Is this your first girls?
24/08/2017 at 20:04
we are trying for our 4th baby. I thought I was done but no the same feeling comes flooding back. Luckily hubby is as up for more as I am!
24/08/2017 at 21:17
Thanks ladies. I'll see about the seven seas. I too have heard about some people having issues with pregnacare so don't want to risk it.
I had some bloods done a few months back as they worried about hormone levels but all good. They checked everything so no issues there but will do anything to help speed the process!
I'm trying for my first baby so it's all new to me.
24/08/2017 at 21:24
Ah it must be lovely to have a house full Fi! Here's hoping you can make it busier soon!
First here for me too! So new to it all as well! I'm so excited but super nervous after 2 mc. I wish my doctors would be more helpful! 😥
24/08/2017 at 21:55
ah how exciting for you girls starting your journeys, feels like yesterday trying for our first. each time it's taken us longer x
24/08/2017 at 22:42
It's really exciting but at the same time I wish it would just happen! It's probably the one thing in my life I have no control over and that i find really frustrating!
Fiona is it still the same feeling for you even now? Does it ever get any easier?! X
24/08/2017 at 23:41
Ruby I am the same in that I like to have control over my life and yet I can't snap my fingers and have a baby when I know I'm ready.
honestly it is still the same for me. I look at babies and get so broody, my sister in law is pg with twins and my womb just aches...My youngest is almost 3 and I was hoping to have a smaller gap this time but it's not happened again.
I have 2 girls aged 11 and 8 who are 3.5 years apart then my boy I had 5 years later.... xx
24/08/2017 at 23:44
But yes it gets easier in the fact that you can concentrate on the babies you already have and just enjoy them until the time is right. It's still a tough road x
25/08/2017 at 19:09
Well seven seas has been purchased! Thanks for the heads up... here's to the start of a new month! X
25/08/2017 at 20:29
I hate the no control!
I gave up caffeine before we started trying as I was completely hooked on it and I've been searching for an energy boost in the mornings and today, I came across something today that I hope will help.
It's Tetley 'boost' blueberry and raspberry with added vit b6 which is apparently good for energy! Here's hoping!!
Good luck with the seven seas Ruby! CD3 has been kind to me today 😊
