Trying to conceive

Morning ladies I was going to add to the previous thread, then remembered it was Monday so a new week!
So, for me CD3 which is good, since things are back on track, and I've started temping this month. However, each day has been at a wildly different time, so not sure how useful it will be. Still, I'll carry on for this month and see what the chart looks like at the end. Being CD3 I also did my home fertility test thing, and it came back negative for levels of FSH so I think that's a good thing, and we still have a chance despite my age . OH is chuffed that since my cycle had sorted itself out, I won't be off limits during our mini break to Spain next month, and that "ideal sexy time" falls during another weekend off that I have (poor love is trying to be interested in all this temp stuff, but struggling, so I'm cheering him up with the more "exciting" stuff!!).
Right, suppose I should wander downstairs and get on with painting!!

Haha, 'trying to be interested in all this temp stuff'! Ant is all about just dtd as and when, because surely that's how it's done :) he has agreed, though, that if this month isn't the one, then we should start tracking somewhat. I still don't expect I'll start temping, though. Maybe if yet another month passes.
CD28 today, expecting AF tomorrow or weds, will definitely poas weds if nothing yet.

Barefoot - glad ur cycles sorted out & ur FSH neg
Wispa - hope AF stays away & u get a BFP!
CD 24 (32day cycle last month) not sure when AF will appear but I'd put money on Sat as thats my wedding day (law of sod & all that!)

Good morning ladies,
Barefoot- Glad your test went okay :) bet that was a relief!
Wispa - Fingers crossed for you
Cooper - I hope it hold's off till after your wedding!
AFM - I am CD37 - FF didn't like me this morning and has taken my cross hairs away, and changed my ovulation date so before my ovulation dates were 5th - 8th now its 9th to the 12th I hope AF arrives soon!
Looking at my chart I think I did actually Ovulate on the 8th it looks more reliable!

Morning Everyone! Hope you are all having a lovely bank holiday weekend! :)
Barefoot - Great news RE 3 day test. I think trying to enjoy DTD and not focusing it solely on TTC is important, its certainly keeping me sane at the moment.
Wispa - Hope POAS brings good news for you!
Cooper - Hopefully AF doesn't show up and its because of a BFP! All the best for Saturday!
AFM - Feeling broody as anything. If I could click my fingers and be pregnant right now I'd click frantically. Irregular cycles really limit your hope, I might not even have an opportunity to conceive for another 2 months :-( CD13 here. DTD anyway!

Hi All, just a quick hello!
Hope you all had a great weekend - I'm on CD 7 so getting ready for a DTD marathon :)

I'm a newbie here and not properly TTC yet so I won't join in too much on these threads yet but I'm just trying to get myself knowledgable in the meantime.
Am planning to come off pill either when I finish my current pack or the one after that and then either use alternative BC or just stop trying not to.. I want to avoid temping/charting if I can because I'm the type of person who will easily become obsessed by it but I will keep track of what day of month I am on, if only so if things don't work out quickly then I'm armed with the right info for seeking help.
In terms of ovulating though, what's usually the best point in your cycle? I've heard before that theres maybe just 3 or 4 days where you can get pregnant in a whole month? (if this is the case it's amazing the amount of teen pregnancies out there!!)
26/08/2013 at 15:29
Hi nuts, come of the pill sooner rather than later, as loads of people have trouble getting back into a regular cycle. Ignore the fear of getting pregnant immediately, just use condoms and you'll be fine. I've not been on the pill for years and been fine. You might regret waiting if you have issues coming off, but I doubt you'll fall pregnant if you know anything abut ttc.
26/08/2013 at 16:28
CD 28 for me so just waiting for AF to arrive so I can truly get this ttc started! I mentioned awhile back that I'm trying to sway a possible pregnancy for a boy (really not bothered if it doesn't work but worth a shot!) so as lots of you are talking about temps I'm focusing on getting my ph levels to sway alkaline (preferably 9-10) today it's only 7 but I'm only just back from holiday so I'm only just back on track.
Barefoot: I don't know much about home testing fertility kits but sounds good.
Wispa: Fingers crossed your AF stays away & it's a BFP for you this month
Cooper: Hope your AF stays away & that your last minute prep for your wedding is going well
Chocolate cupcake: Hope your chart & cycles settle down
Mrs A: Sorry to read about your irregular cycles. Enjoy dtd
Sue: Enjoy the fun part of TTC
Nutella: Ovulation happens around the middle of your cycle (usually 2 weeks before you next AF is due) but it all depends on how long your cycle is. Cycles can be quite erratic after coming off the pill so probably better to come off the pill sooner rather than later.

Mrs A - Enjoy DTD can feel you with Irregular cycles!
Sue - Enjoy your marathon of DTD!
Nutella - Welcome to TTC thread, can't really add anything to what Blackcat has said, it's difficult to know without tracking your cycle and seeing what's normal for you!
Blackkat - Just out of curiosity how do you track/change your Ph levels lol! - I saw you mentioned this previously just curious how it works :)!
Been playing on the FF and apparently since my ovulation days changed my day of my period has changed to tomorrow so we will see god knows what's going on with me atm lol!

Just popping in to say firstly lovely seeing some 'faces' that look familiar round these parts - won't mention anything elsewhere of course
Secondly, I'll be a bit quiet this week and next & just be lurking as I've something on this Wednesday (no idea what) & off on honeymoon next week. I'm CD12 so honeymoon is our next chance.
I really can't get the hang of personals but
Cooper - best of luck next Saturday!
Nuts - was going to suggest the other day that tracking your basic cycles is a good idea - it's surprising how quickly you forget what day you are! Also, it is pretty amazing that the human race continues because you are only fertile for around 5 or so days in any cycle & this decreases with age. Ovulation is normally 14 days before AF not 14 days before unless you are textbook 28 days (which most women aren't).
Everyone else good luck!

Barefoot, yay for cycles being back on track, and for the fertility test looking good.
Wispa, fx for no AF!
Cooper, hope Sat goes well, and AF stays away.
CC, sorry Ff is messing you about, but hopefully it means you're still in the game.
MrsA, enjoy the trying!
Nuts, hello! General consensus is coming off the pill a bit before TTC is a good thing to let your body sort itself out. I came off last time when I wanted to get pregnant and conceived first (longish) cycle, but I think that's less common than having messed up cycles.
BK, interesting about the ph and gender, I've not read anything about that. I'll be really ingested to see if it works for you!
As for me, I'm cd1. Not a surprise, I didn't feel remotely pregnant. Obviously being pregnant would have been better than AF but it's actually pretty positive as it means I had a 31 day cycle first cycle after coming of cerazette mini pill (which if you google you get many a horror story about waiting months and months for AF to return) and probably did ovulate when I think I did. Which is v positive with the PCOS. I think I might start temping this cycle, if I remember and am able to - my nights can be a bit disrupted due to the little one, so getting a good stint of sleep before temping sometimes doesn't happen. We'll see!
26/08/2013 at 21:51
Cc, are you still planning to test tomorrow am?
26/08/2013 at 22:23
Think I will see if AF turns up.. Don't feel like she will, but if she hasnt in the morning then yes will test! not holding my breath tho haha!
26/08/2013 at 22:51
Hello ladies. I just wanted to stick my head in and say I'm stalking you all and reading your posts but not contributing/replying at the moment as there isn't anything worth reporting from me. I've my fingers crossed for you all and look forward to hopefully seeing some more BFP announcements in the near future x
26/08/2013 at 23:58
I've googled quite a bit about the gender swaying & a lot of it is to to do with diet & getting the right ph environment. I've got ph strips that you test your cm on. Also taking a few supplements that are supposed to help to. Who knows if it'll help as some of the advice for swaying for a boy is what I did last time & got a girl! Will just have to wait & see
27/08/2013 at 08:32
Hi Nuts, nice to see you over here . I came off the pill (after about 19 years on it with maybe an 8 month break in that time) in June, and was lucky enough to go straight into pretty regular cycles of 26-28 days. Only real difference is that pre AF symptoms are different, leading me to have a mild hissy fit when getting cramps on CD23 last cycle, then panic over when it turned out a nice 28 day cycle after all! The advice to come off the pill asap is sensible, since had I let myself get used to the new symptoms while not caring about ttc or cycle length, I wouldn't have got myself all stressed. Also many ladies here have had to wait ages before getting regular cycles, so if there's going to be a problem, best to know early.
Spikey, sorry about the CD1, but good news re the sensible cycle length.
Reb, have a fab day tomorrow! Hope the sun shines for you x
CC, any news re AF or otherwise?
Nothing of interest to report here. CD4 and looking like AF is going to sod off a day early, which is nice
27/08/2013 at 09:20
I'd come off the Pill at the end of this package and use Condoms -that way your body can start adjusting straight away. It can take a while before everything settles into a routine
Good luck and don't stress from the start - easier said than done!
27/08/2013 at 09:40
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Sorry for no personals the thread is quite long already!
Good luck to all those in the 2ww! I am now in my first 2ww, not sure when I ov'd so I'm not really expecting it to happen especially as it is our first cycle.
