Morning! How are you all? Good weekend? I've had a lovely lazy weekend :)
Its CD20 for me and this morning I got a flashing smiley on my clearblue hormone indicator tests! Its the first time I've used them so a bit dubious about what tomorrow will bring and whether it will go back to picking up nothing, or stay on flashing for days on end and never change to 'peak'. Despite being dubious, I won't lie, I was super excited about the flashing smiley - ON CYCLE DAY 20!!!! WOW. :) I spent about an hour after believing this cycle could be it, and working out due dates, and all the rest of it. I've never done that before . I think I've snapped myself out of it now.

Great minds Mrs_A I've also just started a thread for this week, I'll delete mine!
You weekend sounds lovely, mine was nice but too short as always! Does that mean you are about to ovulate? It is so hard to not get carreid away.
AFM, I am CD1 or CD24 not sure yet! Had light spotting yesterday and it is still very light now, wasn't expecting a bfp this month but was hoping for a longer cycle.

Lulu do you work weekends, or do you mean short as in it went quickly? I can't make my mind up whether I like to be kept busy, or spend my weekends being lazy. Last weekend was super busy and I had the best weekend ever, this weekend was quite lazy and I was bit agitated. I perhaps need to master in-between weekends!
Hmmm - have you had spotting before? You had some last week too didn't you? Very odd. I'd keep testing if I were you.... is that what you intend to do?
The clearblue hormone indicators say that they pick up 2 'high' fertility days (the 2 days prior to ovulation) and then 2 'peak' days (day before, and day of ovulation). The flashing face means 'high' and a static smiley face means 'peak'. You typically have the 'high' days then the 'peak' days but I'm sure there are people who just have 'high' and some who go straight to 'peak' etc. I think my hormones are a bit whacky so I'm trying to not expect anything of tomorrow.... its hard though! The tests measure your LH and Estrogen I think (they change / peak approaching ovulation).

I mean short as in they go too quickly! I am the same as you I do love a busy weekend but then I also look forward to the quiet weekends as well. It is so hard to get a happy medium!
I normally get spotting 1- 2 days before AF arrives properly, I think tomrrow will be CD1 so will only test if she doesn't arrive by the end of the week. Also forgot to add, I had the result from my smear test on Friday, it was normal which I am so relieved about as I had been putting it off for a while.
Thank you for explaining that for me, sounds interesting I hope you get the smiley face tomorrow then. I can't remember if you've said before, are you cycles normally quite regular?
02/09/2013 at 11:28
Great news RE smear, I put mine off too. I have to admit I'm quite ashamed that I did put it off now. I got told a horror story which prompted me into gear!
If AF arrives properly tomorrow then thats a CD25, what do you usually have? How long have you been off the pill?
I hope I get another flashing smiley tomorrow, then static on Wednesday, but I don't think I'm going to hold my breath. I'll be very happy if it does happen though. My cycles are very irregular, I've had 3 in 6 months, the last being 90+ days... so you can understand (I hope) why I'm trying to not get my hopes up over this smiley face on CD20! Will do a normal internet cheapy ov test later too... just to see how dark it is...
I can totally see this cycle why people temp. I don't know if I 100% trust any ov tests.
02/09/2013 at 11:38
I started temping, and I'm relieved to see it sticking to within 0.05 degrees, and I've got it in my head that this month is definitely the month, as we've completely thrown out the 'let's see what happens' attitude and are both wholeheartedly embracing full-on tracking temps and using opks and following SMEP. At least for this month.
But there's only so much you can do, and the rest is completely out of our control. Luckily we're getting to the fun part, as AF has left the building (dare I hope for the next 9 months?) and we're going to make the absolute most of the next 10 days or so!
02/09/2013 at 13:07
I'm on CD22. I think i ovulated CD13/14 but not really sure. My thermometer broke at the crucial time so i'm stumbling in the dark with only OPKS and like you say Mrs_A not sure i completely trust them. I got exceptionally close to a positive on CD13 and14 both at 2pm and at 10pm, (darker at 10pm CD13 and 2pm CD14) and then it dropped off to completely blank so i'm hoping it did happen that weekend as has remained blank ever since (still testing every few days just to be sure).
I must say though, after temping for 6 months its quite nice not to temp and just see what happens. it feels a lot less intense now which is nice. i would normally symptom spot like hell and i havent at all. In theory AF due on Sunday 8th so i guess if nothing on Monday i'll test and see whats happening

FX for you wishfulwhispers!!!! x
02/09/2013 at 13:42
Mrs_A I came off the pill in Jan 2012 and went straight into 28 / 29 day cycles which was great but the last few months (when we decided to ttc) I have started having 24 day cycles which is typical! Hopefully all is ok and it's just a few month blip, we will see.
Hi Wishfulwhispers and Wispa, good luck to both of you! Sounds like you've got a busy few days ahead Wispa ;-)

I can now join this lovely thread.
Lulu - i also have spotting a day or two before AF finally shows so am on CD25/CD1 depending on this afternoons outcome. Not much going on but i have AF cramps so presume its nearly upon me. Not impressed with my potential LP though....11 days hhhmmmmmmm.
Mrs A - hoorah for the smiley! I do have a pack of these CB thingy majigs so interested to hear how you get on with them.
Wispa - enjoy your fun time!
Whishful - fingers crossed AF stays away
02/09/2013 at 15:44
Hi Vikster! Sounds like we are quite similar and in the same place in our cycles lol!
02/09/2013 at 16:00
CD14 here - so far 4 days of 2 rows on the CBFM but no peak - really hope one comes soon. Feeling wierd like AF is going to show up - bit crampy, bloated, huge spot on my chin and bad mood so maybe it is ovulation. No idea... oh well.... talk soon
P.S. Managed to DTD twice in the last 3 days so fingers crossed
02/09/2013 at 16:07
FX for you Sue.
I'm also feeling VERY bloated and spotty and hoping its down to ov!
02/09/2013 at 16:42
Sounds like there are a few of us at similar points in our cycles... I'm cd26, had some spotting over the weekend and today, but nothing major. Last month was a 27 day cycle, so in theory AF is due tomorrow. What's weird is all the cramping/bloated feelings from last week went by Friday. So, no idea what's going on! Not getting my hopes up though as spotting before AF is quite normal for me.
02/09/2013 at 20:45
MrsA, yay for the flashing smiley, hope you get a peak soon.
Lulu, hope it's just implantation bleeding.
Wispa, enjoy the fun time!
WW, feeling more relaxed can only be a good thing. Hopefully the lines were you ovulating
Welcome Vix, hope you're not here long!
Sue, I hope you get the peak soon, if you've not ov'd already. Sounds like you have your bases covered though!
Lola, hope it's your month.
I'm cd8 at the moment, so gearing up for jiggly time. I've been trying to temp, but forgot this morning, and keep having disrupted sleep, so I'm not sure it's working that well. I'll be peeing on my ov sticks from tomorrow though I think, hopefully I'll have some idea what's happening. Over the weekend 2 of my nct group announced pregnancies. I'm really really happy for them, but still a bit jealous, even though this is only cycle 2. Plus it'd be really nice if I could be on maternity leave at the same time!
02/09/2013 at 21:19
Hi ladies, too late for personals but thought I'd check in. It's CD 5 for me so nothing much to tell. I really feel like I'm starting to wish my life away already ov dates & testing dates & it's only the 1st cycle for me. Ovulation is due the weekend my sister is getting married so will have to find time to dtd in a hotel room with a toddler in the room!! The things we do!!
02/09/2013 at 23:28
BK, it's only cycle 1 for you? I'd no idea! Not that it matters, really, though. I hope you're first cycle lucky. Maybe we'll get our bfps around the same time.
03/09/2013 at 06:23
CD11 here and possibly missed out this month. Haven't DTD recently due to late shifts and being knackered, yet got EWCM this morning. FF reckons ov should be in a couple of days, but not sure. Didn't use my OPKs because I've been getting up early and haven't wanted to be rustling around with things and disturbing OH at 5am! Added to that, I can't see the point in temping. Mine are all over the place due to wildly different times each day because of shifts, and there's no pattern or consistency. Will try to do OPK tomorrow (day off so temp time will be about 3 hrs later again) and see if OH is in the mood later! Due to work stuff I could actually do with delaying ttc for a couple of months anyway, but at my age I don't dare risk it.
03/09/2013 at 09:06
Spikeygoodness - Oooh! That would be handy! FX for you. I'm yet to see how I feel about people around me being successful in TTC. I never thought it would bother me and that I'd be happy for them, but I don't know now.... I think I might feel a bit of 'I wish it was me too' and 'how come they have managed it and I haven't' etc.
Blackkat - LOL! I don't know why that made me laugh but it did! The things we do indeed! Good luck - I'm sure you could leave the toddler with someone, you will probably find someone will be occupying her anyway and you can sneak off?
Barefoot - I get EWCM before ov - so perhaps FF is right. It sounds like your time may be soon! Some months just don't pan out - we can't get it spot on every month.
AFM - CD21. Another flashing smiley (means my hormones are showing that my body is apparently gearing up to ov). Really really really really really hope for a static smiley tomorrow (ov is happening!). I have a gut feeling I'm going to get days of the flashing and thats it, I just can't believe that my body is going to ov in a reasonably lengthed cycle. I'm away from Saturday until next Thursday on business so I'm really hoping my body does everything it needs to before then.
03/09/2013 at 09:12
I don't think you've missed out at all, Barefoot. Will you have a chance to dtd at all in the next couple days? I'd still give it all you've got this month and the coming months, but maybe without the tracking and stress-y bits. Don't delay, but don't feel like you need to do absolutely everything, iykwim.
As for the work stuff, it's all very exciting and I completely understand your trepidation, if not the situation entirely. It has to be frustrating feeling like you're in limbo with these two big things. If it were me, I'd still keep ttc, but would be of the thought that if it doesn't happen at least there's an upside to it not happening; however if it happens then it's worthwhile? God, I'm horrible at phasing things.
