Trying to conceive

Went awol last week because AF showed up and I was pretty down about it. A friend made a really crass comment about not getting enough support in our workplace about childcare and we had a bit of a fight which had me off form for the week. So anyways, cd6 now. AF is gone and I'm heading to the doctor in an hour or so to discuss the spotting I've been getting. I'm hoping I don't just get sent away and told not to worry; though at the same time I don't want to have a problem!! Confusing stuff.
How's everyone else doing?

I'm sorry to hear you've been down ttc really can be an emotional rollercoaster, how are things between you and your friend now? Good luck at the doctors.
Hi to everyone else, as I mentioned yesterday I've not posted here properly in quite a long time but we've just had our year anniversary of ttc our first child. My cycles were really regular when I first came off the pill for about 5 months then became more eratic, my cycles varied between 28 and 51 days. They seem to have settled down at the moment though. I'm 6dpo at today and nothing interesting to report, no symptoms and my temps are staying pretty steady, no signs of implantation. I am hopeful this month and counting down the days til AF is due.

These weekly threads confuse me I posted on the old one!
Veecee- Sorry to hear you have been down TTC is awful and emotional, I hope the Dr heps!
DollyP - Will you be going to the Drs because you have been ttc a year? Fingers crossed for you.
Afm I am Cd9 today and Sat and Sunday I had my little straight line thing with my temps and basing it on my 2 previous cycles I ovulate a week later which if it does happen is a week earlier than normal. So fingers crossed for me please! It also works nicely because hubby has a week off that week and we will be heading to cornwall too see my mum cause my dads away for a few days. So lots of DTD beforewe leave Saturday lol

Hi CC yes we plan to go after this cycle if unsuccessful, part of me doesn't want to maybe because its admitting defeat or something but we need to bite the bullet and go. I'm also thinking of giving accupuncture a go as a few people have suggested it to me.
Fingers crossed for you for, especially when you're H is off work and hopefully full of energy!!
03/03/2014 at 14:33
I can totallyunderstand, I wouldnt want to go either but thenthink of it as a step towards a bfp! I fancied trying accupuncture to regulate my cycles but I am scared haha let me know how it goes if you do do it.

Hi everyone, and hi to everyone who popped on over the weekend!
veecee - Sorry you've been feeling down, I went to the docs about my spotting and was sent for a scan and blood tests to check for PCOS, she said it was unlikely to be anything else. I hope it is just one of those things for you as well.
DollyP - Hi! Sorry you are coming up to a year I hope this month is it for you. A friend tired acupuncture, it didn't work for her but she said she knew of people it did work for so it is worth a try.
CC - Good bit you coming up!
AFM - nothing to report just waiting still, AF due next Wednesday but I expect to see the spotting start over the weekend. I think that is the only good thing with the spotting, the 2ww is slightly shorter as I'll know af is on the way a few days before.
03/03/2014 at 14:43
VC - sorry to hear you've been feeling down. I really hope the dr is helpful.
DollyP - like CC says, seeing the dr is a big step towards a bfp. I know my sil who is a mttc-er, has tried acupuncture after people mentioned it to her. No harm in trying the acupuncture.
CC - lots of crossed fingers for you. That could be a very good week off for your H!
AFM - I'm cd26 & 12dpo. My temp went above the coverline again today, with this being the first cycle I've no idea what I'm expecting my temps to do when. Also didn't help as I had a rough night sleep (though I think I managed to do the 3hrs) as I slept in a little bit later than usual, so took temp 30-40 mins later which I realise could have affected it, will just see what happens for the next few days.
03/03/2014 at 15:05
Thanks for the warm welcome back ladies, yes I'll be going to the docs with my H as soon as this AF arrives!
Lulu, I hope you have a good week and maybe AF won't come it could be a bfp?
Sapphire, temp above the coverline is good, will you wait until af is late to test?
03/03/2014 at 15:24
well dr was really nice. I was almost embarrassed about knowing so much about it all!! She thinks I should have the 21 day blood tests (I had to talk her into doing them later in my cycle as I know I ovulate around cd19/20). She's going to do an internal ultrasound as well. She was really nice and supportive and asking if our relationship was ok, given that it is normal to find this stressful. She said the tests would assess whether the spotting was hormonal.
DollyP nice to see you here, though wish you didn't have to be. Hope you get that bfp and don't have to go to the drs. As for my friend, I haven't seen her since, just the way things have gone. I'm not in a rush to either :/
CC - enjoy the next week or so!! make the most of it.
Lulu, hope the next week flies by and that the spotting doesn't appear.
Sapphire - flash your chart!
03/03/2014 at 15:33
sounds like the Dr was helpful Veecee
Sapphire Oh yes flash your chart I love a good chart flash!!
Do any of the other tempers here just stare at their chart sometimes, I do like its going to change and reveal something!!
03/03/2014 at 16:06
Saphire - I hope that is a good sign!
Veecee - I'm glad the Doctor was nice and helpful.
DollyP - I hope the spotting doesn't appear but I'm not sure if I even ov'd this cycle.
Quick question, how early would a bfp show on a test? I am going out Saturday on what will be a boozy night, I will be 10 or 11dpo if I did actually ov, I probably won't test but wanted to ask in case I change my mind by the weekend (spotting will probably show up by then anyway)!
03/03/2014 at 17:03
10dpo is possible for a test but is about as early as it can happen as far as i know and only a small portion will show at that point.
and yes, Sapphire. staring has been known to happen. the doctor was very amused when i told her i had an app.
03/03/2014 at 17:50
Implantation sometimes doesn't occur til 10dpo so a test may not pick anything up then. I do remember someone saying on here though that alcohol can't harm a baby at this stage as its not using the placenta yet so a few drinks should be fine!

Hi ladies, apologies for my lack of response on last weeks thread.
Still no AF but I haven't tested recently. Not sure it's worth it. I might test by weekend if AF still has not appeared. I just presumed it was normal to take a while to get AF after stopping the pill.
03/03/2014 at 19:04
Hi everyone. Am going to make an effort to post a bit more often.
veecee - fingers crossed you get some answers. I went to my gyno because of spotting and she found what she thought was a polyp. Went to the hospital on Wednesday to have it out and they found it wasn't a polyp but some overgrown endometrial lining, which they removed. Was a quick procedure. I hope it's a similar thing for you.
DollyP - welcome back (even though I haven't been posting much either). Don't feel bad if you go to get help, it's not admitting defeat, it's keeping on going. That's the way I see it :-) Although I completely understand it's very easy to say.
Chocolate Cupcake - everything crossed for you. X
sapphire - hope that's a good sign! When are you due to test?
Lulu - I heard that First Response tests are quite sensitive but not everyone will have anything that will show up until AF is late. Like Dolly says, alcohol won't harm a foetus that early x
AFM - CD11 so are on the DTD train. I don't usually ovulate until CD14/15 but no harm in DTD now of course! Just realised I haven't started peeing on any OPKs yet so will get on that tomorrow, little bit late for today. I have a naturally low sex drive so I'm trying to make an effort to up the sex more so when it comes to the fertile window it won't feel like a chore and more something we do because it's just something we do. If that makes sense.
03/03/2014 at 19:26
Lulu - sorry, just realised we must have posted same time earlier. Hope the next week goes quickly and af stays away. Not much to add about the testing, but I defo had a good few drinks before getting my bfp last time.
DollyP - I'll probably try and hold off until the weekend so that just in case it is a bf, H is around. He wanted to be here when I found out I was pregnant with M & me announcing by sending him a photo apparently wasn't the best way for him to find out that he didn't believe it. And yes, I've defo stared at it a few times... I don't know what I'm expecting it to say.
Bookworm - I'm not sure there is ever a normal. I think everyone's body reacts differently.
Enjayee - I hope you manage to enjoy this part.
So for those who were asking here's a flash of my chart. It's the 1st month so I don't know what I would normally be expecting..
03/03/2014 at 22:12
Can't believe we are on 2 pages already!
Veecee glad the Dr was nice and that they will investigate I hope they get you some answers!
Lulu - Like dollyp said they baby wont be relying on your supple of blood yet so afew drinks wont hurt :).
Bookworm - Fingers crossed for you
Enjayee- I hope you can makethe effort to up the sex more, its difficult isnt it, hard to not let TTC become a military operation! Enjoy the fun bit!
Sapphire - That looks like a promising dip! Could be implantation dip! Fingers crossed for you!
04/03/2014 at 08:27
Oh it's SO difficult! Particularly when the both of us don't have a naturally high sex drive. We had a massive chat about it in January so we both knew what to expect. It felt kind of clinical to have the chat but also necessary. I feel a bit more relaxed about it this time round which is good :-)
04/03/2014 at 09:26
Thanks for your replies re testing, I will wait until af is late but I will probably have the spotting from Saturday or Sunday anyway.
Bookworm - Maybe a test is a good idea, fingers crossed for you
Enjayee - I know what you mean about making the effort, glad you are feeling more relaxed that will help.
Saphire - No idea on charts but fingers crossed for you!
Nothing to report from me still just waiting lol!
04/03/2014 at 09:46
Hi all, I wrote on last weeks thread yesterday oops.
Gosh theres loads of people for personals now, sorry- hi to everyone!! looks like the thread is building up a bit again!
Not much to report from me. Having messed around with opks and not being sure about my cycle I've no idea what to expect this month. I think we missed our chances with H being away and then me keep thinking ovulation was on the way until it has now very likely been missed. I shall just enjoy my nephew snuggles at the end of this week.
