Trying to conceive

CD13 for me, done another CBD OPK this morning and nothing, nada, zilch! Very frustrating as I have never OV'd later than CD15 (over 16 cycles), so surely I should at least have a high by now? I'm doubling up with IC OPKs, so shall do one of them tonight.
Not sure if I'll make it back on, as I have a full day timetabled in.
Hi to all who follow

Saffron - really hope you get a positive!!
AFM - CD17 so I'm going to say 2DPO ...and I want to test already!! It's going to be a looooong 2WW!
Hello to everyone that follows :)

Saffy- just a quick question, if I may? Did I read that you only ever got one positive on an IC opk? Did you also have bloods to check you're ovulating?
I've just started using them and I'm convinced they're not working for me. I get the faintest line ever, yet I'm on cd17 and i generally have fairly regular cycles of between 28-30 days so I would have expected it by now. It's stressing me out more so I'm considering giving them up in a few days!
16/10/2013 at 08:29
Saffron - hope ur opk shows something later
BM - hope ur 2ww flys in, ive only had 1 so far & spent the whole time on Google!
Afm - CD 12, think i should ov on Sat but might start opks today. Off to bed now after the busiest nightshift ive had in years!
16/10/2013 at 08:37
BM - sorry that you're going crazy already, hope the 2ww flies in for you.
Imp - yes, well remembered. I've only wee had one positive IC OPK (last cycle) despite testing twice daily. I actually found it all very stressful, as I got myself all wound up and convinced I wasn't ovulating. I have had bloods confirming ovulation, and also temped for about ten cycles. I get a clear shift, no later than Cd15 every month, coupled with EWCM just beforehand, and cramps. So at least when the OPKs tell me otherwise, at least I still know. I thought it was just ICs, and that the CBD OPKs would be better (more expensive) and easier for me because they are used with FMU. I think maybe I have a short sure and may just go straight to peak, with no high. Do you temp?
Cooper - hey CD twin (almost), hope you have a good sleep!
16/10/2013 at 08:44
Sorry to crash this thread!
Nope, I don't temp, this is only my first cycle ttc after the last loss. I didn't really want to get to bogged down with it all yet. Plus, I'm a dreadful sleeper so for me it's going to be a last resort I think. I've been using ff to record mc and other symptoms etc, so if I don't get a bfp this cycle perhaps I'll know a bit more at the end of the month.
It's good to hear that you know you're ovulating despite the opks, as that's what I'm hoping is going on with me.
16/10/2013 at 08:59
I know how temping seems, it used to scare me, but I'm surprised by how simple it is, and I don't sleep great either. You have definitely ovulated in the past so I am sure that wont have changed. OPKs can be a bit of a head fvck, but I'm at the stage where I feel the need to do something, if that makes sense? Everything crossed for you, x
Blessed - Know that feeling! 2WW feels like the longest wait of your life.
Cooper - Exciting times ahead for you then ;) Enjoy your snooze!
Saffron - Are you using the CBD advanced or normal OPKs? /// How did you have bloods confirming ovulation without getting positive OPKs? What I mean is how did you know when you were ovulating to time the tests correctly? I'm curious - not saying you have done something wrong!
Imp - Don't panic about the OPKs, how many do you do a day / when? I only ever get one positive OPK - (and I have been known to get false ones but thats another story...). In the evening then its gone by the next evening.
AFM - CD23? No temp rise but will flash graph for those who like to see it :) Flashing face still on advanced CBD OPKs, hopefully it will go static tomorrow. Told H last night that I've booked a doctors appointment for end of month to push for our referral. He starts worrying about his swimmers then, and worries he will be the 'problem'. I couldn't get my words out properly but what I was trying to say to H was that him feeling bad, when he doesn't even know that he has a problem, makes me feel like I should feel bad? (Does that make sense?) as I'm the one with 'known' issues. I don't want to stump out his own concerns, he is bound to worry just like I am, I just don't want either of us to feel bad because its not our fault if there is some issues there. I guess if he did had issues and felt bad, it would make me feel like I needed to feel bad if I had issues? God I'm making no sense - someone tell me they understand what I'm trying to say, LOL! Anyway - H always says that people try for years and years (which they do) so we shouldn't get too bogged down when we haven't even got to 1 year of TTC yet. I didn't say it at the time, but on reflection I should probably point out that there's not much point in us TTC for years and years when we already know there might be an issue. Best to get our referral and see what is what. I do kind of say that, just not worded as nicely. I think part of me doesn't want to scare H, but I did tell him last night that I have a feeling we will be prescribed Clomid and explained what it was (to the best of my knowledge).

Pep - my shortest ever cycle was 25 days, longest 29, so luckily the 21 day bloods being taken on CD21 worked for me. I also have EWCM, cramps, etc., so that helps to narrow it down.
So sorry that you're having a tough time of it, I am really hopeful that we will see a rise out of you this weekend though, x
16/10/2013 at 09:11
Fingers crossed for a rise pep! Also I hope the gp is supportive and refers you for further tests, unless you get a bfp of course.
I'm doing 2/3 opks a day, so perhaps I'm just missing it?!
16/10/2013 at 09:25
Saffron - OPK's sound very frustrating I hope you get something soon.
Blessedmummy - I hope the 2ww goes quickly for you.
Cooper - Hope you had a good sleep!
Pepperoni - sorry you're having a rubbish time, I hope you get your refferal soon.
AFM cd15 I think I am now in the 2ww, last cycle was 28 days but the 4 cycles before that were only 24 so not sure exactly when af will be due. Not expecting it to happen this month, it seems ever since we started ttc something has got in the way of dtd enough at the right time. Will try much harder next month, tempted to get some opk's but they sound like they might stress me out even more!
16/10/2013 at 09:48
Saffron that must be really annoying!
Blessed - I guess try not to think about it for at least a week anyway.
Hi Imp - sorry to hear they are stressing you like that already. I'm sure the others using them here will be full of great advice.
Pep- that makes total sense. Neither of you should be feeling bad about it, as you say it's no-one's fault.
Lulu - it can be really hard making the time sometimes on a regular basis. Are you going to wait till cd28 to see if AF arrives?
AFM - cd25 and I'm symptom spotting like a mad thing. Nausea, cramps, indigestion,2-3 flashes of dizzy spells, more cm... apart from sore boobs i'm finding everything. last cycle, which was 28 days, i'd had 2 days of spotting by now but that hasn't happened. but with irregular cycles I could be on a longer one, which would also probably mean we didn't dtd enough at the right time. it's a bit frustrating that it could be another 10-15 days before I know. ah well, just have to keep telling myself to stay calm about it :)
16/10/2013 at 10:16
Saffron - fingers crossed for a positive soon
Blessed - good luck for a calm 2ww
Cooper - Sleep well!!
Imp - Opks haven't always given me a dark line either it's been hit and miss
Lulu - Fingers crossed for you hope this 2ww goes quick
Pep - I'm so sorry you're body isn't playing ball this month. I think its scary for the men when the talk of tests starts, I think they fell like they'll have let us down if they are the problem. I've still got everything crossed you ov soon x
Veecee - 2ww symptom spotting is so frustrating, hopefully you'll have good news soon.
AFM, CD27 nothing to report CBFM didn't want a stick this morning but had a flashing m which means it's expecting me to get my period in the next few days.
16/10/2013 at 11:20
veecee - I normally get spotting a couple of days before af, if I don't have any sign on the Saturday (due on the tues) I might test as I am going to a friends that weekend which normally involves lots of vino! I have said to myself though I don't want to get addicted to testing so we'll see! I hope you find out soon fingers crossed for you!
Dolly - Good luck hope this is your month!
16/10/2013 at 14:03
I'm really sorry to crash in but I just wanted to say to Imp that it's unlikely you are missing ov using 2-3 opks a day. OPKs don't work for everyone so your natural fertility signs are a better gauge than OPKs (i.e. EWCM and temping). I know it all must seem a bit overwhelming for you at the moment and I hope you aren't worrying too much.
Saffron I used them expensive CB opks on one month at the same time as using the IC ones but strangely they didn't work for me whereas the IC ones did. Odd. Conversely though the IC pregnancy tests didn't register for days after the FR test. Hope all is going super duper well with your placement!
16/10/2013 at 14:16
Thanks sweetpea, that's what I'm wondering actually. I think I'll carry on for this cycle and then give them up, they're stressing me out!!
16/10/2013 at 20:45
Sorry, I've missed so many of you today
I got a positive on an IC OPK this evening, so considering te price of the CBDs I seriously hope I get a smiley face tomorrow morning.
Sweetpea, lovely to see you
16/10/2013 at 21:02
I got the closest thing I've seen to a line today, it wasn't as dark as the test line so I know it wasn't positive, but maybe it will be tomorrow.
Saffy I hope the CBD pulls it's blinking finger out!
16/10/2013 at 21:12
That sounds positive JJ
Imp - what time was that at? Both of my positives (two cycles) have been later at night, around 8pm or so.
16/10/2013 at 21:25
ahh I'm not good with the abbreviations yet etc and all the little short cuts but have been away for a week and ovulating so made H boff me loads and also made it do it this morning at 6am when he woke up!
