This is our 1st month of TTC and AF is due to arrive tomorrow (or would have been had i still been on the pill) I have no idea about when/if i have ovulated and therefore not even sure if AF is due tomorrow or not!

However, i have had niggles low down in my stomach on both sides on and off for about a week although one side at a time, i have also had backache and headaches on and off for about a week. I have also had 3 episodes of having a 'headrush' which i don't usually get. It's so confusing as i was on Microgynon for years and so don't remember how i felt around AF prior to taking it. I also understand that AF symptoms are fairly similar to pregnancy symptoms.

My quesiton is do you reckon this is my body adjusting to coming off the pill or could it be a sign of pregnancy or even ovulation? I don't want to get my hopes up. I did buy some pregnancy test today so that i have them ready for when i want to test.

What were your first symptoms of pregnanacy? Sorry for all the questions, as we are new to this it is all a bit of a minefield at the moment to get your head around everything!

    Thanks for any advice!

    x

    hello hun

its so difficult to tell. some of your symptoms do sound positive, but the body can react in really odd ways when you first come off the pill as your hormones re-adjust and your body learns to deal with no artificial hormones

2 cycles after coming off the pill I had terrible nausea, fainting, cramps, sickness and was convinced I was PG. But sadly it was just my body playing tricks and my hormones kicking back in.

Every month since I have different symptoms, its amazing how much the pill regulates your body and how much chaos it sends your body into when you stop taking it.

Getting a PG can take many months, and there again some do fall PG very quickly.

Try not to stress and test when AF is late if you can wait

    good luck xx

    Hi Nikkinoos,

Not sure if this helps much but here goes!

I was also on microgynon for years, came off just before easter, had the usual withdrawal bleed a few days later. I was really surprised to get my first proper af 4 weeks after that - was expecting it to take much longer to arrive.

I got my bfp last weekend, I didn't really have any pg symptoms, just a complete lack of my usual af symptoms (ie no sore boobs, was a complete ray of sunshine rather than being really really mardy, and had no cravings for sweets/sugar!)

I have been getting a few 'head rushes' so now not standing up too quickly lol, and get af type pains now and again, and the odd sharp pain just around my hips, which I think (hope!) is normal.

Tis difficult to say whether your getting ov pains, af symptoms or pg symptoms...have you noticed an increase in any discharge - that's usually a good sign that you've ov'd?

    Hi NIKKINOOS

Did you manage to find the bogof pg tests at superdrug?

It's difficult to say cause so many ladies have different experiences after coming off the pill. I would say to hold out as long as possible and if you get more symptoms and when you feel the time is right, then test.

It's difficult without knowing when you ov or if you have ov. And it could be your body trying to adjust after coming off the pill.

    Good luck hun.

    Hi Hun,

That's good you got the SD tests. I think what the other girls say is quite spot on, I was on microgynon but came off it & went on to depo so cant really advise on that side.

I wish you luck that you get some answers soon hun.

Copperbeach, pain in your hips, when did that start if you dont mind me asking, i've had this complaint for 2 eves now!!! xx
