Just done an OV test and have got another band appear. Its difficult to tell, but it looks the tiniest bit fainter than the control stick. Not sure because it is thinner than the control line. This was within 5 mins.

What does a slightly fainter test result mean anyway? Could it mean the surge is either on its way up/down, or should I just dismiss it anyway.

Did get stretchy cm today too - so trying to put the puzzle together.

Hi, some will say that you have a certain level of LH (what the OPKs detect/test for) throughout the month therefore you may always have a second line. However, it only tests positive for the surge when you ovulate which is when the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. However, I have just started testing with the OPKs this month CD 13 and as yet I havent even had the slightest line appear other than the control line obviously! But as you have EWCM already it sounds rather promising, I'd say get bd'ing!!

    Good luck x

I always had a second line. As MrsS says, the second line has to be equal to or darker than the control line to be +ive, but I always found that either side of a +ive I'd get what you describe - a line that's maaaaaybe almost as dark as the control but poss a bit fainter. So I should think that it means your surge is on the way up or down, particularly as you've got the cm.

Some people say that the window where a +ive appears is only a few hours, so it's poss that you ov'd just before or just after the result you got but never actually saw a +ive on the stick because of timing.

Either way as long as you've bd'd around this time you'll be sure to have some swimmers up there waiting. HTH.

When dh came home from work, he looked at the test and he reckons it was a + test. So Halleluiah - a + ov test on CD17- so relieved as am sure I missed it last month.

Baby dust to every one of us - let hope we all have BFPs soon!.
