Read your post earlier. Sorry it wasn't your month (wasn't mine either, cd 5). When I conceived my son over two years ago that month we bd only 3 times and yet other months we were bd every day in ov week. I think we had sort of given it a break that month and hubby was fed up of the pressure and hey presto. Had forgotten all about it until I looked back at my past posts on here from years ago. So guess that is my tip!!! Umm not bd less but maybe halt the pressure although how you do that I don't know as I can't even this time around.

    Hi,
The sperm meets egg plan worked for me and i followed it to the letter!! And I always put a pillow under my hips for 30 mins after BD, and yes if you can avoid going to the loo for the rest of the night that would be good. TMI but i always put a panty liner in my knicks and put them back on after bd'ing, I always hated the thought of leaking during the night!!
Good luck, I hope it's your month xx

    Preseed
    Putting legs up
    Lots of sex
Go on holiday and have too much alcohol!! Seems to work for so many people!
And no stress! The month we concieved, was the month when HB had to do a sperm test (on my day of OV can you handle it) and we couldn't have sex in the run up to me OV so thought we had missed the boat... as a result we just did it whenever, without expecting anything and lo and behold I got my BFP.

    All the best x

G/C from pregnancy, as just seen Prof Winston on TV on this very topic.

    His advice was really really simple;

-lots and lots of sex, every 2-3 days all cycle
-Stress and anxiety has no bearing on your fertility at all
-in a group of 20 women 17 will fall within a year and 19 within 2 years, so statistically it will happen eventually.
    - he did not advocate a change in lifestyle or diet as he said there was so little medical evidence that it had any effect.

It made for interesting watching, as like so many others I really tried hard to conceive and spent 10 months following the fertility diet, cutting out caffeine etc...the month I just finally relaxed about it all, as we were due to be referred for IVF, turned out to be the month we got a BFP.

It just does not seem to be an exact science, which is so frustrating. Anyway his advice is worth considering I guess.

    Baby dust to you all

Defo SMEP (I got my BFP on 2nd month of trying by doing this plan to the letter)

I read the Baby Making Bible and that recommends post ov to eat pineapple and have a hot water bottle on your tum for 40 mins. I did this the month I got my BFP, so believe there might be something in it!

    Good luck!! xx

Best advice i can give (fell after 6 weeks at age 34) is to have lots of sex....ALL month. When i thought i was ovulating i wasn't, turns out i ovulate quite early in my cycle. If we had only bd around "ovultation" we would have missed our window over and over. Enjoy the bd, remember that...actually having sex for fun....not just to make a baby.
After sex lie down for about half an hour, and perhaps try a position that maximises getting sperm to the egg.

I am in the go on holiday and relax camp!

After 18 months we were told we wouldn't conceive naturally and were being referred for IVF. We went on holiday in the meantime, drank lots, ate lots and relaxed and I got my BFP the week after we got back!

Oh, and I did a headstand That wads probably more to do with the afore-mentioned drinking lots!

G/C from Due in July! This is a great thread!

We didn't bd that much the month we got our bfp, about four times in total, which was every other day from about CD13 onwards... I actually ov'd earlier that month so it was just lucky that we caught it! I still can't tell you the exact day we conceived as there were no signs, no ewcm or anything and I didn't start testing with ov tests until later so had missed it! Was convinced that month my body was playing tricks on me and was quite annoyed about it!

The one thing I would say to all the ladies who have recently come off the pill or had injections etc is please give your body time to get back to normal and try not to worry if it doesn't happen in the first few months. I came off the pill about three years before we started ttc (I had a coil fitted when I met my husband which came out two months before our bfp) and I reckon it took about six months to get back to normal, my cycles returned to 30/31 days pretty much straight away but I didn't get any of the ov signs until about six/seven months later so it can take a while to get completely out of your system.

    Good luck everyone
