Do you take your temp the whole way through your cycle? Seems a bit pointless doing say the first 7 days each cycle...?

I've only started temping this cycle Mrs A but I've wondered this too. I feel like it might be nice to have a little week of a break while AF is here and nothing much else is happening. I started at CD14 this cycle on a whim and figured as long as I got at least a few temps in before ov I should be able to see a pattern without too much difficulty.

I try to temp all the way through my cycle. It's really easy to get out of the habit, which then makes it more difficult to remember to do it during the more interesting parts of your cycle.

Good point Figaro!

Most people do it the whole way through to begin with. I think it helps to get in the routine of doing it everyday. It also helps you get to know your own temps and patterns.
Ladies who are very regular and know their temps and patterns sometimes only temp for 7 days during their fertile week. That is all they need to know that temp change was definitely their ovulation.

I temped my own for my whole cycle, I thought it was nice too see my temps and patterns etc and like figaro said it's good to get into a routine :)

Thanks all. I'll temp the whole way through then from CD1! I read a great tip on here about putting the thermometer under your pillow for easy access in the morning, I'll definitely be doing that! Otherwise I spend about half an hour hanging out of bed trying to find it on my bedside table!

I temp every day the whole way through as it makes it easier to do. Soon as I have a 'day off' waking up and doing it then it gets harder to start again and get back into a routine.
