Trying to conceive

Currently CD4 and will be 'ready for action' on Thursday (CD6). As this is my first proper cycle, i know that I'm probably not going to be super lucky and fall straight away so I'm using this month to gain as much info as possible.
Temping is going well and I'm also going to use OPK's too, but not sure exactly when is the best time to start? Everything that i read about it, says to start on certain days based on your cycle, but i don't actually know what mine is yet!
FF has the optimum window between CD12 - CD15, now i know that that is just a gauge that it sets based on an average 28 day cycle, but i was thinking to start around CD9 just in case? Would this be too early do you think? I have a bundle pack of IC's so can be pretty flexible to start off but i don't want to waste them either!

I normally start mine on day 10, it's probably a little early but I only use the internet cheapie ones!!
I was going to suggest CD8 for your first cycle. I don't think CD9 like you have said would be too early as they can spot ovulation coming up to 3 days before which if it was CD12 would be right.

I was going to say exactly what Dolly P said! I use the cheapie opks and my first cycle using them I started when af finished just to be sure lol! I now start around cd9 and the 2 cycles I got postives were around cd10 and 14 as I have slightly shorter cycles than the 'normal'.
Good luck with them!

Thanks so much for your help ladies! Do you find them easy to read with just having the lines? x

when i was ttc i used to start them on cd8/9 as i ov'd usually around day 11 or 12 as have short cylces.
i found the smiley faced clear blue ones better but they are expensive, so i have been known to use an internet cheapy and back it up with a clearblue

I'm the same as TRF, I have a short cycle so I started them on CD8 and ov'd on CD12. I used Internet cheapie ones I'd bought and some that the lovely Raincloud on here sent me.
