Hi I’m Jen I am 30, married to DH (27) (toyboy) we have 2 children DS (7) and DD (4) we moved to bucks from London when DD was 6 weeks old to give them a better future, it’s lovely we live in a little village and they go to a village school. DH works full time (nights) on a good wage and I work part time also on a good wage (I think)
We are debating about having a third child… We both would love one more that’s not the issue what’s the issue is can we afford another? We have been together for 8 years when pregnant with DS, DH lost his job that he had when I met him and for a while struggled to find work he took the first job that was offered to him which was toilet cleaner on a building site. It was a horrible time for us we had no money and I everything seemed to go wrong for us. I remember having to go up the shop with my jar of coppers for a pint of milk. Since then he has worked his butt of to get where he is today which is working on the London underground as an electrician. I have been at my job for 2 years and love it we are finally at a time where we are financially stable, we have no debts . We are not rich in the slightest but we get by and are able to have days out and a holiday once a year.A third baby would obviously change all this I would have to stop working and get maternity pay ( I would defiantly return to work) then pay for nursery when I do go back. I am a big worrier when it comes to money and worryt hat my two now will miss out if we have a third. Also last year I had to have an op to remove a fibroid from my womb and it now means I won’t be able to give birth naturally I would have to have a c-section this scares me from the pain after to the scarring everything scares me about it. Also after DS we had a little girl who died during birth she was very sick then we had DD. I would be closely monitored in a third pregnant like I was with DD but it still worries me would we cope if that was to happen again??What made you decide to have a third??
