Have any parents found weaning the 2nd time any different?
I started the same way as I did with my first and am really happy with my decision for both, they seem to be very good eaters and have had a wide variety of foods. But with my second I definitely gave more "solid" food sooner such as toast and he is eating the same meals as his sister so has gone through the stages quicker. But this has been great. It's so lovely having them both eat the same thing! Although when he has something different she wants to try which has worked to our benefit. She didn't used to like mackerel pate or tuna but has now eaten it and liked it because I put it on her brothers plate and she wanted to "try it".
Anyone else had a different experience when weaning their second?

Hi Mummy Swan
Yes Ive found it much different this time. I guess with my first it was all new and exciting. I can't say the same really. My second eats everything we do as we have gone done the BLW route this time. Both girls are good eaters thankfully. I just wish it wasn't still so messy. My eldest also no longer drinks juice because she wants her sisters drink (water) and has also reverted from using her fork to her fingers again 'like her sister'!!! Its all fun in this house!! xx

We've been lucky where the fingers come in that she still uses her fork although we have had some battles! But other times you can't blame them for copying the little one! Just she copies him dropping his fork which is mighty annoying!! They get through several every meal time!

I'm all for a bit of good bacteria and give them their dropped forks / spoons back straight away. The ten second rule is a big success in this house xx

Ha!! I'm not always strict but both kids pick things off the floor and eat. Usually no idea what they've picked up though!

My eldest picked up a raisin the other day from outside. She had it swallowed before I could even shout STOP!! You would swear I didn't feed her!!
