2,007 nappy changes and 1,789 feeds- is that it? Ive had and still do have days where it feels that many!!

and as for strangers in the suppermarket and every other passer by DO not get me started, the 'advice' i recieve daily is unreal! got told by the old lady who helps at toddlers to rub gin on lolas gums when she was teething, that teething gels a rip off!!

Yes it's stressful,it's a lot to get used to.Your life changes completely, and your time's not your own, neither's the money.Baby always comes first.I think other halfs seem to take a while longer  to get used to that and add to the stress a little.

Personally I don't listen to advice I haven't asked for.If well meaning complete strangers "give advice" I  just try to be polite, but it doesn't mean I have to pay any attention to it.Everyone's an expert it seems.I'm sure they mean well.I think it's ten times worse when it comes from in laws and outlaws cos you don't want to to insult his Mum and say she did this wrong or that so you're not doing it that way.Personally I don't care but I think a lot of us don't want to upset the MIL.

That said though,I wouldn't   think of  any of my babies' first years as being stressful. They quickly become such a big part of your life that you forget they ever weren't there.

ill happily admit lolas first 6mnths were stressful and for some of it me and roo were pretty glum but everyday thered be something the kids would do to pick you up, and now lola is the happiest little girl who just makes me laugh, shes a poppet! And seems all the more lovely when we worked so hard! x

Is it a study for study's sake or are me and Linz a couple of grumpy sleep deprived stressed new Mums?

I agree - they make studies out the most OBVIOUS and useless sources. What next? 'Mothers who get pregnant gain weight'..... DOH!

I'd like to test the theory that men do a job badly so you don't ask them again.Or maybe they want to be nagged.
