have to say they don't bother me, just another form of swimwear, but still glad not many people wear them

Finally ! It is good to see at least one place in the U.K. taking the lead on this subject. I hope it will lead to other such places giving similar instructions to their patrons. I live in Ireland and people here are free to wear whatever they like in public swimming pools.

If my wife or daughter visits a public swimming pool I certainly do not want them to witness men openly flaunting their bodies.

And I want to know that the female members of my family are not wearing immodest swimwear. Bikinis should not be allowed either. Female swimmers should at least wear a normal swimsuit with shorts. A visit to a swimming pool should not turn into a sexual "perving" session for other people. A little bit of modesty by males and females will make both countries a better place to raise their family. There is no reason for anyone to wear skimpy swimwear in a public place.

I hope this is a trend that will also begin in Ireland.

have to admit im not a fan of bikinis either, the amount of mums i see at swimming more concerned about looking good than having fun

Myself i have a tankini, short style bottoms and a strappy/tank top nice and comfy and practical and i can relax have fun and concentrate on jack and lola!

Andrew wears baggy shorts, wouldnt want to be banned from the swimming pool cuz people cant stop starting at him

Oh my god,took me ages to go swimming in the first place with my rather large figure got a hideous all in one black thing-who cares what I look like,go for the kids!

i was the same but now i go with them i dont think twice, im more worried about jack drowning a less confident toddler or lola flapping so much she will take off, i do so many things i wouldnt before i was a mum!

Jo-if I go-you sure as hell can!!!!! It's so off putting when there's a load of pamela anderson lookalikes there,but I got talking to 1 such lady last time we went,she worried more than I did!!!!!

Lau,your'e right,before I had kids I could be firly reserved in certain situations....can't think of many but I was known as crazy singing lady in 1 playgroup-I couldn't care less about what I look like to others or any image-I do things for the lads,plain and simple,if anyone thinks I'm mad-so be it!!!!

But I urge you to keep the greenpeace commnts to yourselves if you see me attempting to swim,I think whales deserve more respect!!!!

i do it for the kids too, they LOVE swimming (and they sleep like the dead afterwards )

so its worth to seconds of self consciousness, our pools really good though, everyone takes towels out and hangs them over the benches at the edge so then you can leg it down the steps LOL!
