i think its sick they are playing such a horrible story line!
Also, Kat would know it wasnt her own baby! Mothers know their own! even if they are new born! x

While it may make the public more aware of CDS, I hardly think it is appropriate to show on television at a family time of the year, It will bring back very sad memories and times for some less fortunate, who loved and lost their cherished Baby!

Just once it would be nice for a soap to do a baby storyline without any drama involved! I won't be watching the Christmas episodes again this year, it all gets too far fetched and far too emotional for me!

Why do they have to have such depressing story lines every Christmas?  I accept a soap is a good show to raise awareness on these topics, but agree Christmas is not the time to do it as it's such a sensitive subject.  I just hope they do it in a tasteful way.

When I heard this I was sickened because poor Ronnie has already lost out on her daughters life and then she dies when she finds out who she really is, why couldnt there just be a happy ending for once.
And Cat can't really be that stupid to think that Ronnies baby is hers!

Good old Eastenders. It can always be relied on for a hefty dose of misery at Christmas and new year.  And what a particularly horrible story line:  every  new parent and not-so-new parent's (my son is 2 now, and I still worry)  greatest fear.  All this story line can do is evoke, at best, heartwrenching emotions in all viewers, let alone those with babes.  Do we really need this at the happiest time of the year? I will definitely not be watching.

Rediculous! I have a newborn and I am terrified of cot death I get about 2 hours sleep a night it's my greatest fear! And these sick writers/producers want to put in Christmas episodes let alone any, we have midwives to tell us the facts on cot death and it's actually mandatory for them to do so! I will not be watching eastenders again!!!

I know that this is a topic close to a lot of peoples hearts but how could Ronnie take a baby boy when her baby was a girl?? Won't people think it is strange for the baby to "change gender?"

This is terrible. I am currently expecting my first baby and my due date is New Years Eve. This has filled me with fear and additional anxiety, I cannot bear the thought of losing something so precious. Sick East Enders, you should be ashamed.

As a mother who lost a little girl to Cot Death I am horrified by the storyline and especially at the time of year it is being broadcast. To loose  a child is the worse thing that can happen to a parent and Christmas is such a hard time without having to watch on television. I understand that this is part of life but I think they could have had better timing and been more sesiitive to the people this has happened too., I dont know any mother who would have thought of swapping their child with another I do not think this is a bit realistic. Sorry for the rant !

I know cot death exists and to all the families who have suffered the loss of a baby, my heart goes out to them. But to televise this at Christmas has to be questionable, to say the least. My beloved son died aged just 15 years old, and for me Christmas is tinged with sadness. People who have lost a child will have heavy hearts at what is supposed to be a happy family time.We really don't need a reminder of the children we've lost.

I think eastenders is taking it a bit too far on the ronnie desperately wants a baby storyline and i for 1 will be very peed off if they deliver her yet another "poor ronnie" storyline, can't they just let her have a kid with no bother?
If anything it should be kats baby that dies or perhaps staceys.
Its getting very boring with ronnie always falling viotim in this way

Don't think they should be killing anybody's baby off ,especially at Christmas.I know there's no Peggy this year so they can't do the big Mitchell family Christmas drama but this is right up there with the Emmerdale plane crash in distasteful. It's like gawping at a road accident as you drive by on the motorway, smeone else's upset, only they're not real people.I'm sure nobody who has suffered such a loss will be needing a reminder at Christmas or any other time. It's not about raising awareness of an issue,it's the greatest fear of any new Mum.A soap is cheap entertianment, much as we love them, give us something to look forward to.

Swaping the babies though,,any parent knows their own child, now that's just silly.Didn't one of the cheap and nasty soaps do that story many years ago, might have been Eldorado.I was not a regular viewer, honest.

I'm sure I can manage to find other things to do with my time over Christmas. Two weeks after Christmas the story line will be forgotten and they'll be on to something new, that's about how sensitive it'll be.

I respect the fact that EastEnders covers controversial, important and distressing storylines, but I really think this is too much - and I think the fact that this will be the third child that Ronnie (Samantha Janus Womack) has lost in the space of 18 months or so  (Danielle, the miscarriage and now the cot death infant) is just unbelievably cruel. I will watch, because I love the show and I'm sure the acting and writing will be top-notch, but I'm disappointed that the writers chose this as a Christmas storyline.
