Edible insects are being dished out to theme park goers to chew on
Gobbling too many sweets whilst trawling a theme park is all too common, but Chessington World of Adventures is offering guests something slightly different to tickle your taste buds – dried insect snacks!
Certainly not your average pic ’ n’ mix, don’t be fooled by the traditional pink and white paper sweet bags because inside lurks chocolate coated insect larvae, cheese and bacon flavoured crickets and chocolate ant wafer biscuits.
The bug treats are to be handed out for free this Friday February 19 as part of a tasting session to liven up your palette and celebrate the upcoming launch of the new Wild Asia themed area. “Our goal is to become Britain’s Wildest Adventure and this trial will tell us if the British public are ready for the ultimate in adventurous snacks!” David Smith from Chessington told us.
“I think I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here has uncovered a secret desire in many of us to try eating insects so now is your chance.”
If the insect chomping trials are a success, the creepy crawly treats will go on sale as a snacking option from March.
