Dad names his baby daughter after the social networking site
A proud Egyptian dad has announced that he’s named his newborn baby ‘Facebook’ in honour of the role it played in the recent revolution.
Facebook Ibrahim was named after the popular social networking site as her dad wanted “to express his joy at the achievements made by the January 25 youth”. Referring to the recent attempts to remove president Hosni Mubarak from power, new dad Gamal wanted his daughter to have a name to remember, according to the Al-Arham newspaper.
Many Egyptian residents believe that social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter helped raise awareness of what was going on and helped organise protests.
