Fi Star-Stone tweeted throughout the home birth of her son Oscar in what’s thought to be the world’s first #twitterbirth
A new mum from Stafford is believed to have become the first woman to give live updates via Twitter while giving birth.
Fi Star-Stone, 34, decided to tweet throughout her birthing pool labour to help mums-to-be who may have worries about going through labour.
“I did it this way to show them the positive side of childbirth and to show it could be done without pain relief and while tweeting the whole time,” explained Fi.
“I got so many messages of support and it really helped me through – it was a fantastic experience,” she added.
Throughout the labour, Fi received well wishes and messages of support from a number of people, including TV presenter Emma Forbes and artist Banksy. She gave birth to 7lb 9oz Oscar 13 hours after her labour began.
