1. Little Tiger Cubs

Fun and safe – two words that don’t always go together, but in the Little Tiger Cubs classes they do. This is a fitness training programme for children aged 3-5 years old that aims to develop fitness and well being with a series of martial arts based games and exercises. The orange and black uniform is rather cute too. A free trial lesson is available. Simply call the number of the club you wish to join. Class sizes are small so it’s best to book early to avoid disappointment.

2. Pool Fun Sessions

For a splish splash swim take a trip to the South Lanarkshire swimming pool. The 25 metre swimming pool is spacious and safe for kids to dip more than a toe in with a child friendly adjustable floor. The kids can also have fun floating around at the Pool Fun Sessions held at the weekends. Parents can join in and have a laugh playing with the rubber ducks and balls.

3. Glasgow Ski & Snowboard Centre

You don’t need to be a member to learn how to ski at this club fitted with not one but four modern floodlit dry slopes. Located at Balleahouton Park, only minutes away from Central Glasgow, you’ll find a range of snow sporting activities for every interest and level. Ski schools and ski themed birthday parties are tremendously popular all the year round. Throughout the summer holidays a series of classes and clubs are put on by a team of qualified instructors. Your child will develop from a complete beginner to an experienced racer. Eddie the Eagle, watch out when you go off piste!

4. Climbzone

The Climbing Wall, the Skypark, and the Drop are the key areas of interest for youngsters taking their first steps in the vertical world. Suitable for anyone over the age of seven, all abilities are welcome, and group bookings are ideal. For those wanting something a bit different and daring (who doesn’t!), have a go on the Robocoaster. It’s the only robotic arm ride in the UK that can be programmed by the rider themselves.
