• I have recently set up a class for bubs from 4 - 18 months called Cheeky Champs. (I am going to extend this to 4 - 24 months) The idea was to give value for money by including lots of elements into one fun class - so there is singing, nursery rhymes, dancing, baby sign and sensory. I also wanted a fun, stimulating room plus somewhere with a cafe so mums can stay on and meet other mums over a coffee!! So, Cheeky Champs is every Thursday at 915am in the Bees Knees @ BAC on Lavender Hill! Trial class is only £3 if you book so give it a go this Thursday if you are around. www.cheekychamps.co.uk Read more...

  • This is a great class for babies - nice songs, instruments to play (or chew), other babies, bubbles etc.... BUT it is quite difficult once they are on the move. There is a lot of emphasis on the children sitting still, listening and joining in properly which is not the easiest thing for a newly crawling 9 month old let alone a walking 1 year old. We gave up once my son reached that point and found some more active Read more...

  • My 3 year old and I went for a free trial class and had a great time. Pippa did really well at getting all of the children involved, including my reluctant little one who doesn't always join in with singing and games in public (even though always does at home!).
There were fun drumming and shaking songs, and we loved the use of home-made instruments. There were other slower and gentler songs, too, many written by Pippa as well as the classics.
Pippa has a lovely singing voice and I can't wait for her to bring out a CD so we can continue the fun at home!
The class was fun, relaxed, and Pippa was very good at encouraging participation and, impressively, tidying up after each song.
Pippa was very friendly and welcoming, and great at remembering all the children's names.
    Overall, a great class!
The room was a little warm, so dress in layers, but it was a nice size and cooled down nicely with the window (safely) opened. Read more...

  • I took my 2 year old along for a free trial class and she had a great time.

It was a nice balance of structured sing/shake/drum alongs and more energetic dancing so none of the pressure to keep energetic toddlers still that you get in some other music classes.

Pippa has a lovely voice and has written lots of songs for the class herself, although there are still plenty of old favourites too.

She was very friendly although perhaps a little hesitant with the children when dealing with them one on one (e.g when collecting in shakers etc...). My daughter is a particularly enthusiastic little singer/dancer though so maybe that was our fault!

If it were a drop in class we'd definitely go again but as she now does ballet and music at preschool, I can't really justify the cost of a full term.

Definitely worth a look though if your child has outgrown Monkey Music! Read more...
