Christmas you say? Yes, you heard right! While your mind may be on the great British summer, sizzling barbeques and fun holidays, we made it our mission to find the coolest toys for Christmas 2012.
Evolution PR’s Christmas in July show didn’t disappoint, proving it’s still THE place to go for all things toys! We’ve cherry picked what we think will be serious contenders for Santa’s list.
Highlights
Tech loving tots will be in computer heaven with VTech’s Gadget the Robot, £39.99. Suitable from 3+, this mini cyborg will make your little one giggle with his funky noises, light up buttons and spinning body. He also comes with clever push-in chips that’ll help your tot learn all about letters, numbers, music and more.
For budding artists, Little Tikes iTikes Canvas, £39.99, is a gadget must-have. Like a classic doodler, your nipper uses the stylus (or her finger if she’s really good) to draw, stamp and paint in different pictures. Plus, there’s tons of sketches to choose from so she’ll never get bored. Be warned mums and dads, it’s addictive!
Remember playing with wooden toys? Relive that nostalgic feeling and invest in a wooden Haba Farm (price still very hush-hush) for your little princess. The colourful playset comes with a variety of animals, so she’ll have hours of traditional farmyard fun. You’d be quackers not to get it!
Mini racers will be dying to get their hands on GB Toys’ ‘Go Mini’ range. Priced from £9.99 upwards, these racers are very cool stocking fillers. There are 5 styles to collect and each mini has its own quirky sound effect. Jenson Button, eat your heart out!
Old school retro toys are a strong trend for the festive season and after 15 years, Subbuteo is back! The board game, £39.95, has had a slick makeover and you can now buy Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester Utd Teams to play with for just £12.99 each. This is a great father-son bonding toy if I ever saw one.
