As you know, MFM are lucky enough to go to many fabulous events, previews, screenings and press shows. And because we want you to be in the know on what's hot, we thought we'd share with you all the wonderful bits and bobs we've come across in the last few weeks.
So, in amongst the blizard snow storm, we made our way to various press shows to see what we'll be wearing when the sun comes out (hoorah!)
First up, Debenhams.
Splattered with an explosion of bright colours and psychadelic prints, Debenhams childrenswear was an array of loveliness. Along with its usual designer collections (Matthew Williamson, Jasper Conran and Ted Baker) we spied the new childrenswear range from Julien Macdonald. Not available until next year, the collection is packed full of eye popping colours and attention to detail decorative extras - you're going to love it. The womenswear didn't disappoint either... We were loving the bauhaus inspired column striped dresses, monochrome prom dresses as well as the beautiful canary yellow number covered in black flowers.
Mamas & Papas S/S 2011 collection also raised a few style nods. The maternity collection didn't fail to impress with it's gorgeous bohemian silouettes and embellished kaftans, perfect for stylish mums-to-be in the summer. We also loved the brand new nursing tops too. Long gone are the dowdy and dull tops as M&P's have designed a range of lovely (and very chic!) tops in breton stripes and colour black duo's.
The childrenswear was also just as striking with embroidered cardis and embellished dresses for the girls, and cool all-American styles for the boys.
Then off to Matalan (told you we've been busy!) where we were welcomed with tea party-esque surroundings complete with garden trees, wooden fences and super cool oversized teapots. We were dribbling over the lust-have shoes, again keeping to the outdoorsy, rustic theme, where we feasted our eyes on rope tied platforms, crochet flats, scarf tied wedges and woven bags. Expect ditzy floral tea dresses and clashing knitted cardis aplenty. Now all we need is the sun!
Then last, but certainly not least, we headed to the New Look S/S 2011. Covering everything from folklore chic to acid brights, the main focus were on the shoes. Shoe fans will fall to their feet (excuse the pun) at New Look's summertime footwear - how cool are these asymmetrical block colour wedges?! The jewellery was on fine form too with lot's of ethical influences (check out the elephant pendant!) and bold tribal pieces which will look great with the flowy chiffon gypsy dresses. the childrenswear perfectly mimicked the 'mini me' trends with some little girls pieces being EXACTLY the same as the womenswear - Suri Cruise eat your heart out!
