This gorgeous dolls house has a classic feel.

Although Christmas is probably the last thing on your mind as we're waist-deep in July, we donned our festive hats to attend the ASDA Christmas in July press event, where our taste buds went wild over a range of Christmas food set to get your stomach rumbling! Here’s our sneak peek at the tastiest food set to hit your tables this winter…

Those of you with a sweet tooth will be blissfully happy this Christmas, as ASDA has every kind of cake covered. Its gorgeous Bauble and Snowflake Christmas cake has been matured for three months and soaked in brandy. It has been beautifully iced and decorated with pristine snowflakes and white and gold baubles, with a stylish scattering of glitter.

For the chocoholics, the Extra Special Yule Log has every kind of chocolate imaginable gracing its gorgeous sponge, from Belgian chocolate swirls, chocolate biscuit balls to chocolate ganache butter cream. Perfect for hitting those chocolate cravings!

One special fella that needs a mention is the 3D Jolly Santa cake - be warned, your kids will be begging you for it as soon as they spot his bright red suit! A sponge cake with butter cream and raspberry jam in four layers and hand decorated for that friendly Father Christmas feel!

Your children can get further into the Christmas spirit by decorating a range of biscuits. There is the Decorate your own Christmas Tree, complete with green icing and edible decorations, where you can stack the biscuits to form a tree shape. There are also round biscuits that come in packs with white icing and decorative motifs, so this should keep the kids quiet.

ASDA has also introduced the brand spanking new Christmas Tree Croissants! Large, flaky croissants dusted with snow-like icing sugar... how festive!

If you're more a savory person, then don’t worry, that’s covered too by a luxurious range of meats and cheeses. We especially like the Marmalade glazed Wiltshire ham, which would look great on the table with its large orange slices decorating the pink ham. As for the big day itself, ASDA is offering Norfolk turkeys, which have been outdoor bred for better flavour.

Although ASDA won’t be revealing its toy range (or prices!) until later in the year, it did have a small selection giving us hints as to what to expect. The Hello Dolly dolls house would be perfect for an imaginative girl. The wooden house, with opening front panels and a roof, is painted a girly pale pink with furniture packs sold separately.

Hello Kitty and Mr Men are both friendly faces to watch for, as the Mr Men mug range has been soaring off the shelves since Father’s Day and would make a great gift for the men in your life. Maybe Mr Grumpy for your dad and Mr Messy for your brother? Hello Kitty is pretty in pink again this year. We especially like the Kitty Time watch, ideal for teaching your young ones how to tell the time. They’ll be proud to show off their new watch!

Dinner time will never be dull again, as ASDA reveals light-up Christmas crackers, in a bright red, with twinkling blue lights in a traditional tree shape. The range of tree decorations should entertain your children as well, with snow globe style and red velvet decorations, and sturdy golden stags for your table. And don’t forget the stocking! A friendly snowman is waving away on the generously sized stocking that would match perfectly the selection of cute characters that you can hang on your tree.

And what to drink in the evening? MFM recommends the Asti, a light, sparkling, sweet wine that is only 7% alcohol, so you can still enjoy a glass while watching the kids play.
