Another day, another exciting package through the post at the MFM headquarters! Not only have we had the pleasure in chomping away on the delicious LEGO Duplo cake, but the generous people at Thorntons sent us another edible sample - the new Mini Blocks!
Not one to back down to a challenge (especially ones that taste this good!), the MFM team (Susie Boone, Cassandra Kempster-Roberts, Kyrsty Hazell, Kimberley Smith and our intern Matt Fricker), got down to business - put the kettle on and gave our taste buds a work-out!
The new 'Mini Blocks' are perfect for popping in your handbag for when the sugar rush arrives AND they are purse friendly, setting you back just 69p! It would be rude not to...
Available in eight tasty flavours including fudge, toffee, belgian milk plus a few for dark chocolate lovers too with chilli, mint and ginger flavours - these yummy little snacks are perfect for busy mums on the go who fancy a treat.
If you're worried about the 'moment on the lips, lifetime on the hips' situation, be rest assured that these fun-sized choccies are organically sourced and are so small, you can afford to have a munch.
Here's what the MFM team thought...
"OK, I have to hold up my hands here and say I'm not much of a chocolate fan - a weird quirk I know, but choc doesn't really do it for me. However, my first bite into the fudge flavoured bar revealed a chewy lump of yumminess in a smooth milk choc coating (the chewy bit was a very toffee-like fudge nugget) and the remaining chunks went down very quickly. Not too much chocolate to set the sugar levels spinning, but filled a gap deliciously. I'll admit I'm a bit of a convert." Susie
"Delicious, dark, smooth. An adult take on the chocolate bar. Perfect with my third coffee of the day! Just the right amount to get a choc fix, but not so much as to make your teeth ache or the guilt kick in." Cassandra
"I took a bite out of the chilli chocolate and thought it wasn’t very hot but after a few chews I got that pleasant (and very mild!) burning sensation I love about chilli chocolate. Went down really well with my tea and it's nice and dark too so I feel a bit healthy with my bag-sized snack. Cheers, Thorntons!" Kimberley
"I love a good mint chocolate, no dinner party would be the same without them, so these had to live up to my high expectations. The dark chocolate mini-squares are the perfect size for gobbling whole (plus they didn't make me feel too guilty) and the mint was delish. Cup of tea + bite sized chocolates are the perfect pick-me up for chocolate addicts - and for the fraction of the price for a whole bar. Genius." Kyrsty
"At first I didn’t see how dark chocolate and ginger could work together, but after a few bites the flavours mixed in a really intriguing way, until sadly, I realised the chocolate had all gone!" Matt
