As Government cuts continue to bite, charities are urging councils to protect the centres
Around 250 Sure Start Children's Centres are at risk of closing within the next year, a new survey has suggested. In addition to this, 2,000 could have to cut back the services they offer to families.
The survey by 4Children and Daycare Trust has found a massive amount of children’s centres across the country could close when they lose their funding this year.
It’s estimated that 60,000 families will be affected by the 250 closures, and staff at 1,000 centres will be at risk of redundancy.
