Controversy over provocative poses by child model

Model Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau, 10, causes outrage after posing in a very grown-up photo shoot, modelling adult clothing

With her rouged lips and stiletto heels, sprawled across a tiger skin rug pouting at the camera, you'd think this was your typical high-end fashion pose. However, the model in the picture is a school child, barely into double figures.

Ten-year-old child model Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau has caused outrage in the US after her photo shoot for French magazine Cadeaux was deemed inappropriate and too provocative for her a child her age.

The heavily made-up girl, who is being tipped as the next big thing in fashion despite her young age, has featured in numerous high-profile campaigns, but it's her latest shoot that has raised concerns.

The Parisian pre-teen, who is the daughter of actress Veronika Loubry and former French footballer Patrick Blondeau, started her career at the age of 5, when she walked the catwalk for Jean Paul Gaultier.

Sadly, Thylane isn't the first child model to come under fire for modelling adult clothing. Actress Dakota Fanning, 17, was chosen to be the face of Marc Jacob's perfume, Oh Lola, and was criticised for striking provocative poses. Dakota's younger sister Elle Fanning, 13, was recently revealed to be modelling Marc Jacob's A/W 2011 range for women.

True Grit actress Hailee Steinfeld, 14, is also one of the latest teens to front a women's clothing campaign, with her deal with Miu Miu.

What do you think of Thylane's photo shoot?

Think this article has just confirmed why I won't consider my children becoming child models!

I am sure the child is enjoying herself (Blimey, what child wouldn't love to be dressed up and be the centre of attention!) - but at what cost?

There is already far too much presure on children to grow up too quickly (and too much pressure on parents to just let them).

There is so much more to life and childhood than fretting about how to look sexy (even if the child does not know thats what they are doing!)

Just my opinion, I am sure there are many who would disagree.

I said pretty much the same on facebook about this. I think it is utterly disgusting. I think it's fine for kids to model for stuff their own age, no make up, acting like a kid but this is uncalled for and I have been really annoyed that someone would let their child do that but can't think why the people organising the shoot would want to do this either.  Unfortunately I think kids are getting more sexually aware at younger age and it is just so sad. Also, it doesn't really leave any dodgey people sneaking around if kids images are going to start getting more raunchy. It just delies all logic as to why anyone would want to dress a kid like this and get them to pose like that. I wouldn't want my girls looking like that.
