Roll over Superman! Good old dads have fought off stiff competition from long reigning superheroes, cartoon explorers and action figures to make it to the top of the heroic stakes, according to research from The Children’s Mutual.
The study found that aspirations amongst five and six year olds have changed, seeing Dads topping the poll, keeping him well ahead of the caped crusader Batman.
If you’re a mum or grandparent, fear not. Mums finished in 5th place and granddads scored 9th position for boys, with grandma securing 10th place for the girls.
“Being a great dad can feel like a superhuman challenge and it’s wonderful that today’s five and six year olds can see past the special effects and costumes to appreciate their own home grown hero – dad!,” said Tony Anderson from The Children’s Mutual.
