Could stretch marks soon be a thing of the past?
Could stretch marks soon be a thing of the past?

Every woman has her fair share of complaints about her body, whether it is hard-to-shift cellulite, bingo wings or muffin tops. However, stretch mark sufferers will be rejoicing today about the news of a medically approved laser treatment, which is about to be making its way to the UK.

The Lux1540 promises to banish the unsightly ‘silvery striae’ by up to 75% by stimulating new tissue to grow over the affected skin. Although stretch mark laser treatments aren’t brand new to the dermatology market, it is the first to be approved by the American Food and Drug Administration.

The only snag is that the revolutionary laser treatment will set you back a not-so-purse-friendly £1,200 for the recommended four sessions. However the results do claim to be permanent.

“Clinical studies have shown that patients treated with the Lux1540 laser achieved an average improvement of between 51% to 75% in the appearance of their striae,” said Dr Adatto, one of the developers of the Lux1540.

The laser wonder treatment is already being used in the US and it’s on its to the UK. The Harley Medical Group plans to introduce it to its clinics in London, Birmingham, Dublin and Manchester.

If £1,200 is a little too steep for your purse strings, why not check out our reviews of 12 different stretch mark creams?

Would you try the Lux1540?
