British golfer Catriona Matthew wins Major and then gets up at 2am for the night feed
Golfer and new mum Catriona Matthew, 39, celebrated her first ever Major championship victory by going home to feed her 11-week-old baby Sophie. By winning the Women’s British Open in Lancashire, Catriona becomes only the third mum to win a golfing Major since 1960 and the fourth ever Brit woman (and the first Scot). Her achievement is all the more impressive considering she was giving birth less than 3 months ago and has a newborn to look after. Indeed, after celebrating her success, she was up at 2am with baby Sophie to give her a night feed. She’s also mum to 2 year old Katy, who also no doubt wanted lots of TLC from her champion mum. Both children have been with her this week during the tournament, and her husband caddied for her. While Catriona is not planning to have any more children, she was delighted that her win is a real victory for mums. She also claimed her second labour, which took just four hours, had been much easier than her first, allowing her to regain her form so quickly. "I think the difficult time will be when the girls start school and we'll reassess what we do then," she said after the tournament. "But this has certainly spurred me on to play for at least another few years."
Just goes to show how well us mums can multitask!lol! (I know... she had help!) I play golf also but not sure I went back as quick as that!
