Parents in the North East are spending the most on toys and gifts for their children this Christmas, coming in at a massive £286.70, a survey of 2,000 parents by Bickids has found.
A close second and third were Northern Ireland and Wales, and last in the Christmas spending spree were parents in London, who admitted to spending £164.02 on presents this year.
The cost of these presents is also raising mums and dads stress levels, as two thirds of British parents confessed to feeling the pressure and suffering pre-Christmas tension in the build up to the big day.

North East: £286.70

West Midlands: £242.32
Scotland: £225.85
East Midlands: £225.78
North West: £223.95
Yorkshire: £205.71
