Think-tank says warmth and discipline produces the best adults
Taking a ‘tough love’ approach with your children increases the chances of them growing in well-rounded and successful adults, according to a think-tank commissioned by the government’s equality watchdog. However the discipline needs to be shared with warmth and love in order to help your little one develop both self-discipline and empathy in later life.Finding these traits are shaped mainly in preschool years, the report also found this ‘tough love’ style of parenting was more popular with married parents rather than lone or step parents.
