There's no denying that the images here are absolutely stunning; full of raw emotion, and totally capturing the intensity of childbirth.

But was the mum - a lady named Ludymilla who runs the Senhoritas Fotografia company in Brazil - right to include her 2-year-old daughter, Agata, in the birth of her new baby brother?

The little girl looks totally unfazed in the pics, and obvs her mum is getting a lot of comfort from her being there, but is childbirth just too stressful a sitch for such little ones to watch?

Ludymilla told a parenting website that her daughter was 'very happy' and excited to meet her new little brother, Zyah, and that her being present for his birth was an 'amazing thing'.

She did, however, admit that there had been a bit of a backlash to the pics, saying: "We’d received many comments in our pictures that it was wrong to have such a little girl in the birth but we didn’t care at all.

"As the birth is, for us, a family event, important for the constitution for everyone in the family including her, we had to have her there."

What do you think?

Would you want your toddler at the birth of their younger sib? Or would you worry it would prove too stressful for them?

Or indeed for you having them there? We'd love to know what you think either in the comments below or over on Facebook.
