Is the Baby Shusher the miracle answer to getting your newborn to sleep?

Well, the latest product promising to send your newborn blissfully off to the land of nod is the Baby Shusher - suitable for newborns up until your baby's 9 months.
It was designed by mum and dad duo Katie and Chad Zunkers from Texas, who were desperate to get their little girl to sleep.
After watching an interview from a doctor who suggested 'rhythmic shushing' could hep their baby sleep, they tried it - found it worked - but also noticed that it was tiring, constantly being by their little one's bed to shush her.

So they decided to record the shushing and attach it to a handy device that can be left by a cot with a timer that can leave the sound on for 15 or 30 minutes - though the couple say it should only need to be on for 10 minutes to work ?
The sound the Baby Shusher gives off is a kind of white noise shushing, as the Zunkers point out when your baby was in the womb she would have got used to the sound of blood flow 24 hours a day.
Essentially, the Shusher is replicating something very familiar and comforting to them.
What do parents think of the Baby Shusher?
We've yet to try the Baby Shusher ourselves, but when we took a quick look on Amazon to see what people think of it - it was generally getting a big thumbs up.
"I don't know what I would I do without it!!! I love it!! Best thing ever to put my baby to sleep," said a fan.
And another said: "I spent many days shhh'ing my baby. Then a friend told me about this! It's brilliant for car journeys for those babies that hate the car seat, or even indoors when your mouth is so dry from all the shhhhh shhhhh shhhhhh shhhhhhhh you have to do! BUY THIS!"
Though others weren't so impressed: "Very expensive for something that you can probably record yourself. Also didn't help to settle my child at all. Waste of money."
While another commented: "This scared my baby. Save your money."
