It’s been a busy week in celebville, with talk of babies, new arrivals of showbiz tots and even an unlikely grandma!
Despite being named the new host of US reality TV show, ‘Dance Your Ass Off’, former Spice Girl Mel B isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. In fact, she’d love to increase her family life with not one, but two babies!
Already mum to Phoenix Chi, 10, from her relationship with Jimmy Gulzar and Angel Iris, 2 ½ , whose dad is Hollywood actor, Eddie Murphy, Mel is keen on the idea of twins! “I would love twins. I think there’s something nice about having two babies, and they’re there for each other their entire life,” she told Hello! magazine. Watch this space to see if Mel will welcome double trouble in 2010!
Meanwhile, actor Mark Wahlberg, who is also a fan of having a large brood, welcomed his fourth baby – a daughter named Grace Margaret. Mark’s wife, former model Rhea Durham, gave birth to baby Grace on Monday in a Los Angeles hospital, but vowed that the baby making has come to an end! “I’m the youngest of nine, and my dad has a few others. No, four is enough,” Mark has said previously. The happy couple are also parents to Ella Rae, 6, Michael, 3, and 16-month-old Brendan Joseph.
Another arrival comes in the shape of a little boy named Benjamin Malcolm Green! Former 10 Years Younger TV presenter and stylist, Nicky Hambleton-Jones has given birth to her first baby. After a gruelling 5 day labour, little Benjamin was born in a London hospital with her hubby Rob in tow.
In Brighton, DJ Zoe Ball, 39, was spotted shopping in her Hove hometown just a day or so before she gave birth to baby Nelly. She certainly looked ready to pop! Already mum to 9-year-old son Woody, Zoe and her husband Norman Cook admitted that it took them years of trying to conceive. “Norm and I tried for a baby for years with no joy, so I’m feeling quite blessed,” Zoe revealed last year.
We’ve heard of a Glam-ma but we haven’t ever seen one, until now that is! The most unlikely Grandma title goes to the French president 42-year-old wife Carla Bruni, whose step-son has welcomed a baby boy. Nicolas Sarkozy’s son Jean, whose mum is Nicolas’ first wife Marie Dominique Culioli, has become a dad with his wife Jessica Sebaoun-Darty. Carla, who prides herself as the president’s beautiful wife, is apparently very happy about the baby news, despite it not being ‘very rock and roll’ for her image!
