School lunches can be pretty boring. No matter how many jazzy sandwich or snack combinations you come up with.

But one dad has come up with a novel way to get his 6-year-old looking forward to his lunch… drawing cartoons on his lunch bags!

"For the last 2 years I’ve been drawing a different picture on my son’s brown paper lunch bag for every day he’s gone to school," illustrator Brian Dunn writes on his website.

This first design shows his son in his regular school uniform and backpack, but with Iron Man's boots, gloves and helmet, he's about to blast off!

This second design shows Peter Parker as he's about to become Spider-Man.

More like this

"They take about a half hour each, I colour them with coloured pencils, and he usually gives them to friends once he’s eaten his lunch," Brian continues.

It's not only superheroes that Brian draws. He also takes inspiration from animated favourites such as the Minions from Despicable Me.

We think this one's been up to no good judging by the explosion going on in the background!

The creative dad also adds his own spin to popular characters.

This Godzilla lookalike is certainly a lot more cuddly than the version we've seen on the big screen!

We'll finish with a classic. Pokémon's Pikachu looks like he's about to jump right off the paper!
