David Walliams children’s books to be made into film?
The comic’s tales may be transformed onto the big screen
The Little Britain comic David Walliams is reportedly in talks with a number of US studios to adapt his children’s books into a film.
The camp comedian swapped stand-up for novel writing to write his first book, ‘The Boy In The Dress’, about a cross-dressing school boy, which was published in 2008. This went on to receive a nomination for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. His second book, ‘Mr Stink’, illustrated by Quentin Blake, was released earlier this month.
If his tales about cross dressing school boys and a little girl who befriends a tramp make it to the big screens, he’ll be in good company! The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson recently sold the rights to her children’s book, ‘Tea for Ruby’ to a TV production company.
Other celebs who have tried their hand at children’s literature include Geri Halliwell, Jools Oliver and even Madonna!
