Emily Blunt announces her new baby girl's surprisingly traditional name
And proud daddy John Krasinski did the big reveal
Given that actor couple Emily Blunt and John Krasinski already have a 2-year-old called Hazel, we kind of knew they probably wouldn't go the edgily inventive route with babynames 2nd time round – and they most definitely haven't. There's absolutely nothing Frou-Frou La-La or Paprika-Kumquat about their new baby girl's name.
And, sharing their baby news on Twitter yesterday (US Independence Day), proud daddy John revealed more than just their new daughter's moniker; he confessed she actually popped out 2 WEEKS ago! (This is becoming something of a trend, isn't it: the secretive celeb birth thing?)
But on to the name. Sticking with with their obvious liking for a botanical theme, and choosing something that nicely complements big sister Hazel, the pair have chosen... *drum roll*... Violet for their new little girl.
How lovely (and normal) is that?
And, speaking of normal, while she was still pregnant with Violet, mum-to-be Emily spoke about how her 2nd pregnancy was so different to her 1st one – describing how, when she was pregnant with Hazel, she had time for 'self-indulgent' treats like massages, yoga and hypnotherapy, but 2nd time round, she was so busy with her toddler, she sometimes completely forgot she was pregnant. (We hear ya, Sista!)
